Hi

I will be in Japan in December and would like to get some photos dressed as a Geisha (and Samurai for my partner). We'll be in Tokyo or Kyoto.

Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences they'd like to share?

Many thanks!
:)

SWMBO and I got dressed up and photographed as Geisha and Samurai at Toei Uzumasa Movie Studios in Kyoto.

We just had the 5 minute "quickie' ie chuck on the robes and have a photo taken. I believe you can also have the "full monty" ie be properly dressed up and spend the day there in costume.

I got dressed as a Geisha girl this time last year for my 50th birthday.I had it done at Kyoto just outside the train station..it would help if you booked, it takes quite some time to get you all dressed up and photographed, in all it took about 2 hours and then you go back and they give you your photos..I decided on the proof sheets and a dvd so I could get copies made at home or email to friends. It was very expensive at the time as the Aussie dollar and yen were not that good to each other, it cost me around $200 australian dollars. You can find brochures around advertising where to get it done..sorry I could not even begin to give you directions.there is no address on my photos sorry. I just know it was on the backside entrance of the Kyoto station on the corner of the street. The photos are really unbelievable, nobody can recognise that it is me! my children screamed " give my mum back". Instead of looking like a 50 year old white lady, I truely look like a 50 year old Japanese lady. Hope this is some help. I do recommend it, it was a lot of fun!
