J LHR-MEL - MH or TG?

Sorry I should have said why, personally, I have flown TG J a lot and it's an OK product.. MH for Satay and the A330 neo and A350 if you can get that as well.. TG A350 interiors are already falling apart... I heard MH had leased some SAS or Finnair A350's and I haven't flown those so yes that's my reasoning :)
 
For maximising sleep I’d choose the TG option. Flight sectors are both 9 hours plus, allowing for a meal/movie, and get some solid sleep. The flight from KUL to AU, like that of singapore, is quite short.

I’d say it depends. If taking the evening departure from LHR, that makes sense. if you take the morning departure from LHR, I’d argue the opposite. The longer first sector is a good thing for a better chance of a long sleep, whilst the sector to AU is a day flight, so sleeping all the way on that sector will make it difficult to sleep after you arrive that evening. YMMV.
