Hi All,

Mr Glider and I have finally moved into our newly built home after five years of stress, sweat and tears. It's been such a long road to get here we've decided to celebrate with our precious bottle of 2010 Grange. I know it's a bit young in the Grange world, but this milestone is worth it.

For those with more experience than myself, can you recommend the best way to get the most out of this special drop? I'm looking for tips on temps, decanting times and food pairs, not "chuck any leftovers in your boeuf bourguignon." :)

Thanks
Glider

Decanting is a must. Ideally at least an hour or two prior to consuming.

I generally would have thought it a bit young, but apparently peak drinking is from 2018-2060 . decant, let stand, and enjoy all by itself

If you want to make the most of it, hang on to it for another 20 years.

Failing that a long decant would be in order. Probably in the order of 4 hours. Open it early, pour a little into a glass and assess.

As for food matching a nice big steak would go well. You'll need food with such a young Grange to calm those tannins. Once your steak is finished, some hard cheeses would go well. My call would be a parmesan reggiano.
