Next trip for me right now is a day trip to Lille (£54 return in a pre-sale sale with Eurostar aint bad). I'm pondering whether I should pencil something in for Dec...... Can probably do flights & hotel for £150 p/p for a weekend. Decisions decisions. I don't need the TP nor the HH stay credits as I'm way past HHD now, but it would be nice to do another set of Christmas markets, we did BOD last year.

Spoke too soon. Pondering a trip on FR to GOT mid-December. £50 return for flights and can get most of the hotel night paid for as I have Welcome Rewards credit to use with hotels.co.uk. Hmmmmm!

For once, I finally found myself to have no confirmed flight booking to my name. It's a weird feeling.

Bother. I'm busy every weekend in December. January however has £30 return. I think we have a winner.... nice way to de-stress after the first week in a new job.

Interesting to read this whilst on a train to the airport.

I'm currently away until late Tuesday and then we head off again Thursday PM to head to Hobart for AFF #7.

Living 3 (or so) hrs from the airport adds a few planning difficulties so often means a stay in Melbourne for the night prior or post trip.

Unless we do a quick family run down to Sydney for Christmas only got two trips for the remainder of the year.

A quick Melbourne run with a good friend on Wednesday night and the train crawl a couple of weeks after!

WA is currently in planning for next feb/mar, 2014 is quiet apart from that thus far.

If I am not travelling, I am planning travel. That's how my life has been for the past 6-7 years. I should mention that I discovered AFF around that time too?!? So I wonder if there is any correlation between my travelling habits and being on AFF ;)

Hmm. I have this same problem too and developed it around the same time ;)

Living 1+ hours from the Airport can make for the similar issues ... but more often a Hire Car (Pick up from City, drive home, overnight and [not so] OMG start back to MEL to drop off).

I avoid the 'no bookings' in my future thing. I think it's happened once in the past 5-6 years, and it didn't feel good!

I've booked trips for the future on the way to the airport for a trip, in the immigration queue arriving back home to depart a few hours later, whilst away on trips, and a surprising amount of times when my friends and I are together, usually under the influence of wine/gin, for random w/ends or 2-3 week international jaunts :) When all combined, it pretty much ensures I don't go more than 3-4 weeks without being on a plane so I tend to always have something to look forward to. There was a 6-8 week period this year and last I didn't get on a plane, and it drove me insane. I did have to do a few quick get aways during that time, even if it was a day trip to SYD or a w/end in PER. I am not one for staying put for extended periods either.

At a friends wedding in PER a few years ago, she singled me out and thanked me for coming. My response was "I wouldn't have missed it for anything" and her retort? "Yes but you'd go to the opening of an envelope". Sadly she's pretty much right! Any excuse to travel =)

I am also afflicted with the same disease as most of the members who have posted on this thread.

My motto is that "You're a long time dead".

Just got back home a couple of days ago and now finalizing next March/April's extravaganza.

Trying to use miles for flights tends to have me planning around a year in advance where i want to go.

My friends keep telling me they're confused as they never quite know what holiday I'm talking about.

Just back from my 4th trip away this year. Starting to get a bit panicy over the fact I've only planned for 2 next year. Might have to look at the reserved leave roster and see if I can add a couple of days off to when I get a 4 or 5 day break and take up scoot or AAX on a cheap flight offer.

Now if I could get another 3 cities for $3 for 3 days offer to somewhere I've not been before...

My friends keep telling me they're confused as they never quite know what holiday I'm talking about.

Ever now and then, my friends and I would have a conversation similar to the below...

Friend: Where are you now?
Me: I'm home.
Friend: Which home/country?
Me: I'm in SIN at the moment, but will be in [insert destination] on the weekend.
