Issues uploading files

Have started conversation with @support but is anyone having issues uploading files/photos from their smartphone?

Was working for me until a few days ago and as soon as I choose the file to be uploaded nothing happens. Clicking on Upload file again also does nothing.

Do you use firefox to upload?

If do then it often errors in smartphones when uploading files

Chrome or samsung browser can work better.

Samsung Internet browser.

The same one I've been using for a long time but from memory there was an update a few days ago and upload files hasn't worked since. Hmmm.

That could have caused it.

Certainly, try a different browser or operating system and see if things change. If so, then the cause may have been narrowed down.

I am able to upload files using Chrome on the smartphone.

Still unable to upload files using Samsung Internet which is my preferred browser.

Not sure whether related but @Denali mentioned in chit chat thread that she's not able to upload files either.

FWIW, I have been unable to load images using Firefox on my GS5 for at least two months. Samsung internet works.

Hi and about a week ago I stopped being able to post photos from my phone to threads.
Wondering if anyone else have the same issue or advice. I click the upload file button, select photo but nothing happens after that. I've checked I'm up to date on software, I've rebooted and signed in/out (limit of my IT skills).

Using Samsung Galaxy note 8.

Can you install a different web browser to the default one and try with that? I know @JohnK was also having a similar issue, and it may have been down to a recent update to his phone and the browser he was using.

On a computer you might use Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Firefox or something else... these are all web browsers.

Different browsers display websites in subtly different ways. Sometimes when I encounter a problem in one browser I will use another to determine if it is a problem with the website or the browser. I might even use a different connection (wifi vs 4G vs 3G) to see if it’s my internet provider that’s causing the problem too.

To properly diagnose your issue I need you to go to your version of the App Store on your device and download a different web browser. Login with it and test if you can upload a photo.

You might also consider sending @JohnK a message to see if he is using the same browser and device as you. That could help narrow the cause down.

So, which browser worked for you, and which didn't?

Do you know how to check what your operating system version is? Perhaps an update has buggered up something on the phone.

Strangely I was able to upload photos on other forums but not AFFer.

I updated/changed to Chrome on my phone and that seems to have fixed the issue.

Are the other forums running Xenforo too? Care to link them so I can try determine what version of software they are using, feel free to open a conversation if you like.

It appears to be an issue with new version of Samsung Internet browser installed either just before or after New Years.

P.S. download was not from app store. It was a notification on the phone that a new Samsung internet browser update was available. I was able to upload files before that update without issue.
