Hi All,
I'm off to the US on VA1 in late October, and have been trying to make a booking with Delta, however each time I click to process payment, the following error message always appears:

There was an error processing your request. Please select start over to submit your request again. #4067R

I tried the same booking using four different cards and each time, the same message appeared.

I also contacted my banks who informed me there would be no reason that my cards shouldn't be working overseas and the issue is with the merchant.

I tweeted Delta, who told me to call their online team on a US number; not really that helpful (really don't want to be on the phone for hours booking 5 separate flights for two people)

Has anyone else had this issue booking with Delta? Is there a way around it?

I could always book online with Expedia, though would prefer to book directly with Delta, without the long phone calls.

Thanks in advance
Matt

I did about one month ago, and yes the Delta online Technical team were about as useful as teats on a bull.

I eventually got it to work. I was trying to make the booking with my Velocity FF number when prompted. I took a guess that it was not the credit card details failing to work, rather it was a failure of the Delta system to match/connect to the Velocity system.

I just left the FF details blank, the bookings then went through, no worries, logged back into the Delta System and then linked to my Velocity number.

YMMV

Whenever I have CC processing issues I always try another browser, this often resolves the issue for what ever reason.

This has happened to me too, failed in both Chrome and IE, online support said to call the Australian number for Delta, but it was outside business hours and the start of a long weekend. Ended up booking through helloworld.

didn't have any issues with booking with DL, but had to show the credit card used to book the flight, once landed and connecting in LAX.

clarkkent, I tried different browsers as well. Seems the solution is as per vmile's post; don't put your Velocity number in

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

At least it's quite easy to put it in after booking.

FWIW - I have not had trouble once with DL online bookings. Velocity number or not

I suspect it might be a data matching issue- unless your details EXACTLY match what you are entering in the Delta site with your Velocity details it might reject it.

And Jneufeld I actually tried four browsers on two platforms before I had a go at not including my Velocity FF details...........

Mattyj89 so glad it worked for you, it was really getting to me with Delta that after it rejected the booking you had to re-enter everything again, and again, and again.....

We will be in the States 29 October-24 November, hope to catch up with you on a Delta flight!

I had strange issue months back where it would only accept Melbourne post code (3000) in credit card payment and not my actual postcode.

I have had this a couple of times and Delta advised me it was credit card related... Mind you I did not believe it. Had 4 attempts and it worked but still had to show the actual credit card used for the booking at check in. The system would not allow online check in for me.

I booked my delta flights on the phone via the Australian number virgin gave me. I think from memory the main reason for doing it on the phone was I wanted the comfort seat discount that came with my status. Had no issues. Flights were last October and only just got round to using the OZ number again to get credited back the comfort seat component of my ticket as we got bumped from those seats on the flight. All relatively smooth process using OZ delta number.

My computer has many idiosyncrasies. I cant book VA using IE but can using Chrome, cant process BAS using Chrome but can using IE and Mozilla. I cant view SIA website on IE but can in Chrome but to make seat changes, I have to use my app. There are many more and by memory, I had to use Chrome for Delta last time but IE for VX.

I don't even bother trying to figure it out anymore.

Would it be due to the fact that most U.S. Security checks when using credit cards require the zip code of the credit card? I've had issues with delta about 18 months ago and that was the reason. No issues last month.

Having booked many times with Delta, I can tell you this is a fairly common occurrence for me (maybe 20% of the time) when there is an itinerary with non-Delta flights.

It is not credit card related. I cannot explain it, but it is partner airline related and it even happens when I use my Delta FF number. It would make sense that it is some cross-reference between carriers that breaks. I always have to call and they book it over the phone (but if you can't call the US for free, this isn't a great option).

Glad you figured that out! I tried 4 times, gave up and called them. Did it over the phone. Next time will blank the VFF number!
