Having just done VA's A330 J MEL-PER-MEL over the Easter break I was blown away with how good it was - it was a lot better than several intl J flights I've had. I was fortunate enough to avoid XFA and XFB and thought the 2-2-2 lie-flat was fantastic - the charcoal and white looks stunning. Food was excellent, staff were excellent, IFE was excellent - everything just worked. Yes it might be overkill for a 3-4 hour flight but I loved it. I WISH VA would start deploying these A330s to Asian destinations.

Which led me to question if there is a better domestic J anywhere in the world? Yes QF's A330 suites next year may be better but until then? There aren't many countries large enough geographically to warrant an intl-standard J class (US, Canada, China and Russia and the ones who come to mind) - how do they compare? If VA do have the worlds best J then if they can find some sort of 'ratings agency' to confirm this it would be a hell of a marketing tool.

Would VX First Class be about the only comparable competition?

VA coast to coast can be an excellent service.
In my opinion AA F Flagship service is better on their transcons.
I think the sundaes nudge it ahead.
QF can equal VA with the right crew and an int config aircraft.

My wife and I just did perth - Melbourne with QF on an international configuration A 330 and it was awesome!!

A big part of the awesomeness was the crew. I think they were the best J crew I have ever come across on any airline.

I did post something in the bouquets for FA's thread as I felt the service was that good.

Agree with princess Fiona, QF with the right crew and right equipment is the equal of any other airline out there.

Happy travels!

No ..... VX 737 'F' is a long way behind VA tans-continental J offer on the good A330's

VX F food is not up to VA's cross country offering.
Seats ... well white leather may look good at first but if your not going to clean it well what colour could be worse after a while ?
I have always had great cabin crew staff on those VA runs ........VX is very hit and miss even in what they call 'F'

VA's offering is streets ahead.
