is the MH/VS RTW fare as stupid as it seems?

Thanks Dave.

I actually have a copy of the below rules and i actually had Flight centre, bextflights etc read it and they still wouldn't accept the route i wanted to do. My route is: SYD-KUL-NRT(MH) - NRT-LHR-SFO(VS) Make my own way to LAX-TPE-KUL-SYD(MH)

They said i cant do KUL-NRT as its not in one continous direction! But i spoke to MH and they are happy to do this for me! I booked it :)

Dave, just wanting your opinion if you don't mind, if your intepretation of the rules do you think my route is valid?

Cheers,
Kenn.

Looking at point 2 in the fare rules it does mention that travel must be continuous RTW either eastbound or westbound. Northbound and/or southbound deviations will be at the carriers discretion.

I think that if MH has said KUL-NRT is OK and the routing appears to be valid according to point 2 in the fare rules then really no reason why Flight Centre or Bestflights did not want to ticket it.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply John :)

Yeah i found it strange they don't want to ticket for me to NRT. Anyways its not my loss as MH have agreed to book it for me.

I'm trying to maximise mileage while also want to visit cities worth visiting :)

I haven't been to Tokyo before so i thought this may be a good route to try. Also i want to try a couple of long haul VS upper class....

I've been a long time J class traveller on MH....

I wonder if i can maximise my routing more? Thinking SYD-HKG-LHR-SFO//LAX-KUL-SYD but i dont think i really want to go HKG as ive been there before...and nothing much stands out for me:p

Maybe i can try CPT but mileage but not sure which routing i can take....

Cheers,
Kenn.

Hi Guys,

Just a heads up, i have booked SYD-KUL-NRT-LHR-SFO//LAX-TPE-KUL-SYD

They allowed a free sidetrip from KUL-BKK-KUL but i think it will be too hectic :p

As i will be doing SFO-JFK-LAX using DL.

The other catch is i can only stop in KUL once.

Cheers.
K.
