Is it worth it for the kids to join QFF?

Well that would do it :)

Are we talking in the 10's, 100's or 1,000's?

He said the higher number was joined first IIUI.

Not in my case where the second one was 11 higher than the first.

Within 80; back then I was thinking of some form of check-digit.

The joining was in 2001 and the member numbers were in the order of 3200K.

If indeed the QFF numbers reflect how many members there are we could do a survey of number to plot the rise and rise of QFF. The first few digits of numbers when people joined for each month going back 20 years.

Not that I'm volunteering!

Isigned up SWMBO and the kids 2 years back and they were 58xx_XX. The differnece between the 2 kids done in sequence is 12. SWMBO done the next day is about 800 north of the kids.

Might be interesting to plot the numbers, would probably need the first 4 numbers to get the stats decent enough, which might not be secure enough for people.

I'm not sure the numbers are generated sequentially.

Just think, those of us who joined in the mid 90's and earlier can refer/brag/explain about having 6 (or 5 or less) digit numbers. In 20 years time, your offspring can do the same regarding 7 digit number when their contemporary newbies have 8. :p

Might be something in another decade once QFF have signed up everyone in China, India etc and the number is upto 6,xx_,xx_,xx_ ;)

When I signed up myself & my mother, I had 2 browsers opened and submitted simultaneously; her number was 3 higher than mine.

I did a similar thing 2.5yrs ago when signing up my twin boys.

Numbers came out as 57xx_x5 & 57xx_x8 - also 3 apart.

I would suggest that signing up kids is a good idea, esp if free. Who knows what the sign-up charges might be when the kids become interested in the future???
