I called an Accor property to enquire whether the exec lounge was open etc. subsequently told I couldn’t book through Accor and the hotel is only taking bookings over the phone. Managed to book through Accor but maybe this is about to change.

Looking at another Accor property and says unavailable but if I go direct to the property website there is availability.

Something weird going on with Accor. Anyway, if I book directly with the property can I enter my Accor number on arrival?? Like you can with airlines and rental cars? Could I still use the dining benefits of the card at the restaurant?

The property is available on hotels.com also so may book there.

Solution
Booking directly with the hotel is considered an Accor channel, and you should be able to add your number to the booking.

Not sure which hotel it is, as most I have seen where you go to the hotels own website, you end up on the Accor booking site anyway
Won't you miss out on your member discount if you don't have your number in there at the time of booking?

I know you can use things like the Accor Plus card at any time, don't even have to be staying at the hotel to get your discount on food.

I was pretty sure you needed to book directly at the Accor site to get points and stuff?

The property is showing as sold out on Accors website. But it’s available directly through the property’s own website and on hotels.com. I find it weird it’s not available through Accor plus the previous hotel Sofitel saying they were only going to be taking direct bookings over the phone. Haven’t had this issue previously. Was hoping I could retrospectively add it and still earn. But never come across this before.

If you book over the phone, can you put in Accor loyalty #? Otherwise, sounds like the hotel is managing its cost of participation in Accor loyalty; I'd take it up with Accor if you can be bothered.

It was a Peppers property and when I enquired on arrival they said they weren’t affiliated with Accor. I don’t know if this was specifically this property or all Peppers properties.

I’m glad I booked via BA Avios to gain Avios as well as AMEX points and Hotels. Com nights booking. Something my brain hasn’t needed to compute for several months.

The Sofitel property honoured the booking I made via the Accor website despite the phone call suggesting otherwise.
