Is it just me, or is it the end of an era?

Soooo.... I have been researching my next trip to Europe recently and have been checking on a bi-daily basis for availability for 2 pax, QF1/2/9/10 SYD/MEL-LHR.

It has just dawned on me today after calling the AA desk, after checking every available date in range, that there is not 1 F seat on any of the flights.

Is it just me, or is it the end of an era of "cheaper" F travel on QF?

What dates are you looking at?

The dates I tried certainly worked. (Try 24th Oct 2017 QF 1 and 9 are available)

Were you looking through QF or on AA? At times I have found less availability on AA than what QF shows.
I was looking in aa.com

There was plenty of F availability but I only went in to look at specific QF flights on a few days.

You are correct, there certainly are.

I certainly haven't been able to find any aside these.

I am searching for AAward space.

The issue I am highlighting is that "back in the day" we used to be able to jump 330 days into the future and see heaps of availability. I have taken a total of 8 flights to Europe destinations over the last 4 years on QF 1/9 in F and now cringe at the thought of loosing that ability to pick and choose dates :-(

"First" world problems...? No pun intended

Really? All I remember is any F availability being booked between 364 and 330 days out by QF members, and very little left when the window opened for AAdvantage members. Seems to be business as usual.

I find a lot of
Phantom availability on aa, it shows seats available but when you click it and try to boon it throws up an error that the flight is no longer available..

I had similar issues trying to book seats and in the end called AA to book, but it was so frustrating - went on for weeks

I have the ear (email address) of someone in AA's tech department. I got so fed up with the phantom availability I pushed until I got someone beyond a reservation agent.

If you can give me some examples I'll feed them on.

I can give you a few (because I’ve been tearing my hair out for the last few hours trying to book flights to Europe, and keep getting that damnable message in a green box).

That last one involved 2 overnight stopovers and took 48.5 hrs. I never intended to take it, but was curious as to how widespread the unavailability would be. The answer? Pretty well across the board. Looks like I'm gonna have to make a call to get this booked :(

The whole month of June appears to be the same. I've booked with points via the AA online portal before with minimal issues (it gets glitchy, but usually quitting out of the browser and starting over seems to resolve the problem), so this phantom availability is a new thing for me.

So I called up AA just now (because my departure date is drawing nearer and nearer, and I'm getting a little antsy about it) and spoke with tech support about the complete lack of available award flights due to the phantom availability phenomenon. The rep said an internal announcement went around the call centre this morning, and that the problem is tech related and causing issues across the board with all oneworld partners - even the phone reps can't make award bookings right now.

On the upside, it's nice to know it's not just me. On the downside, they couldn't tell me when it would be resolved, and they won't be providing any notifications when things are back online. I was told to 'just keep trying' online, or call back another time. :-|
