Is AFF running slower than usual for anybody?

I've noticed that when clicking "Submit Reply", the screen just hangs for minutes - after a while, I open a new tab and check the thread and the post has been posted - but the original tab is still hanging (as if it's still processing the reply/post).

Lag also appears when initially clicking "Reply" - the text box thing where we enter text takes a while to load. Also getting a little lag with adding smileys.

Still running dog slow for me at times - seems that whenever it has to communicate with the database (read a thread, reply to a thread, post in a thread), it takes forever. For the things that I assume are cached queries ("getdaily" searches, recently read threads), it's running somewhat faster (but still slower than I would expect).

If I was a premium subscriber to AFF, I would be a little disappointed that the site just falls over.

Yup - I am a little disappointed, but I'm not paying large sums of cash for the privilege of using the site so it's not a massive issue.

Hmmm, I have been gaining access mainly through my iPhone and the only thing that takes a while is loading pages and sending replies.

P.S. This reply only took 3 seconds to save, load and process

All zipping along nicely from the hotel internet in HK today. As some others have noted - its the fastest I have seen any such forum in a long time. A lot faster than I ever get from my ADSL at home.
