Invitation to LH coughtail function in MEL

Got a nice invitation from LH today to a coughtail function on 15th Aug with their VP of Asia and Pacific who's popping by MEL.

Any other MEL-based M+M members going to aforementioned event? Would be great to go as a group.

Like a good AFF scout should, I'll do a report back (with pics if possible) after the event.

Well at least you get the 20% off awards thing in the US.

Actually, the oz-based SENs are often ignored by LH so I'm pretty sure you should get more of these things in LAX?

Hmm I've never felt so out of place in my life. Most of the people there were industry partners, German chamber of commerce reps, or important looking people from big German companies.

I could only see one or 2 other FFers. Nonetheless I did enjoy the free grog and finger food.

It was basically a farewell party for the current Australian GM who's been promoted to be regional manager for Asia Pacific up in Singapore, and a welcome party for the new Australian GM.

winetraveller - if only I'd known your real name. They mentioned that all MEL-based SENs and HONs were invited (there'd be a similar event in SYD some time later), and were quite mortified at the idea that they missed out on a HON (or did you receive an invite eventually??).

Must have done something wrong, I wasn't able to attend anyway. Oh well will take it out on the expensive Whisky in the FCL next time.
