Has anyone had any success trying to book an intra-UK J class award? It never shows up online, and I thought it might be like the hiding Finnair J class which is a known 'website quirk'.

I tried calling but got the standard "subject to availability" answer to every question, even when I asked if it's ever possible to book intra-UK J using QFF points.

Thanks in advance

Edit: forgot to mention all flights I'm interested in show availability on AA.com

I've booked a J award LGW-JER on BA before, but it was about 2 years ago.

I've never seen any availability for BA J on any UK domestic route out of LHR show on QF.com. I have seen availability though for flights to/from LGW and LCY.

Intra UK has many routes. Which one are you after?

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm interested in LHR-GLA vv and INV-LHR vv.

Doesn't matter any date I randomly select there is never any J availability, including when cross referencing with what AA.com shows.

Like Mattg says availability appears ex LCY (only flies to GLA though).

I'm not sure if it's worth pressing again with the contact centre to get then to check with someone else, like I've had to do to get Finnair flights in the past. Maybe there's a secret phrase

You could join BA's executive club (requires UK address) and search on there. Once found, request ticketing through QF.

Requires address outside Australia/New Zealand not just UK address.

I've just checked my account with BA, and all of my address details are where I reside in Oz, with the exception that my country of residence is recorded as UK. Never had problems accessing the account.
Some may try The Strand, London, WS1 which as I recall is the address of the Australian High Commision.

Other dyslexic members use their oz address but change the country to Austria!

Please excuse my lack of knowledge - if there's availability through BA's FF program, I call QFF and request they ticket it?

Yes and ask them to waive the 5000 points fee as it can't be accessed on line.

Ok thanks everyone. I'm expecting a monotone "subject to availability" response. Is it common knowledge that QFF should match BAEC availability?

No, the availability won't always match. But it gives an indication. Let us know how you go.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks again everyone for their help. After being advised of the now so common 90 minute expected wait time on the phone, I tried live chat, and after 45 minutes of explaining the tickets are supposedly booked (waiting for emailed itinerary).

I will say the live chat operators seem more willing to go and check with other people. Would've been great if the first person I spoke to had done the same.

I'll be back if I never get the etickets! ;)

Edit: flights showing on my QFF profile, so all good.

Glad you got it sorted, and I'm not trying to question your right to do whatever you like with your points, but I have to admit to being curious - why did you want to book J on domestic BA flights? I have flown BA domestic/short haul international J on occasion (as part of a long haul itinerary), but I can’t say I’d ever go out of my way to get a J seat on those flights!
