Hey guys and girls, new to these forums and would appreciate if somebody couple point me in the right direction re: the following:

I have complimentary travel insurance through my citibank platinum card. I recently booked a trip to the UK for myself and my girlfriend (not living together) using my platinum card. A read through the citibank travel insurance T&C (provided by Zurich) seems to indicate that she, being my travel companion, would not be covered.

Can anyone confirm that this is correct? I just want to make sure this is the case before she buys separate cover through TID or one of the other online providers.

Thanks
Tommy

Not an expert in these matters but I'm guessing your insurance is similar to mine (Zurich HSBC plat). From what i read it's spouse and dependants so long as the flights are paid on the card, or 90% of the costs. You could call them to confirm, but I guess "legally" a girlfriend is not a spouse. I called them recently before signing up for the card and they were quite helpful.

Welcome to AFF ...

I would suggest that if there would be any doubt your girlfriend would not be covered by the card, you should take out a separate cover for her.
