I had the pleasure of enjoying the first day of the breakfast service on this route. I was very impressed. There were a few teething problems with speed of service but the crew did a fantastic job and the product is very much improved.

Glad you enjoyed it as much as we love offering it to you. :)

Looks and sounds great. Now if only Qantas could work on offering something more than a warm ham and cheese croissant for breakfast in international Business on flights from Asia (so-called "Café breakfast").

There is only one word for this service - disgraceful.

I had to google Croque Monsieur .
At least I know what it is now.
I really like the sound of the new menu. Thanks for posting.

Looking forward to trying this in J on Wednesday next week Brisbane to Perth and then again on Perth to Melbourne on the Friday will try and get some pictures. :D

A couple of FAs were promoting this before its commencement, talking about how there would be no tray and that there would be a variety of food to choose from. I hope I get to try it soon.

The Croque was lovely - sourdough, cheese, double smoked ham.....

I found two key attributes attractive. One, the range and choice of quality options... the tray with 3 choices never really hit the spot.
Two, the lack of tray and customisation gives you the flexibiity to just snack and continue to work if that's what you want, or enjoy the full spread if you are relaxing.

I'm a fan and am now hoping the new service is available on my return leg tomorrow afternoon.

Happy to know that you're enjoying the new menu and the flexibility it brings. :)

I thought it was on offer ex East Coast only?

LOL

Surely it would be available from the west to east legs. What would be the point of having a one way service? That would just be silly :D

You might want to read the details again:

Qantas International Dining Standard To Be Available On Domestic Service

Qantas domestic Business customers will experience an international standard a la carte menu on all flights from the East Coast of Australia to Perth.

Designed by Qantas Consulting Chef Neil Perry, the new contemporary way of dining will be served on all Sydney-Perth, Melbourne-Perth and Brisbane-Perth flights from late May giving customers more choice.

I seriously doubt that the service is only one way. It's just a badly written press release surely??

Over-analysed more likely.

The website says

New! We’re now offering an international dining service on domestic flights between Perth and the East Coast. With small plates and main plates on offer, you'll be able to choose how you dine.
