Interesting route for a QF bird

Yep. It’s the third leg of a charter by “Constellation Journeys”. It’s ultimatly doing a round the world tour.

Is that the one that had the old F fitted with a new modern version of "old F" ??

That "new" F section reminds me of an outback pub - hard, smooth surfaces, all designed not for comfort, but to easily be hosed off......

Surprised that QF don't consider keeping a few 744s for charter purposes.

I guess the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on an ad hoc use aircraft is a killer when you can use a spare.

But why not keep one as a spare....then it becomes hard to maintain and orphan in the fleet.

Maybe just rent them to all the poor buggers trying to operate 787's with RR engines......

And where are you going to 'keep' your crews? Someone has to fly them. They need some level of currency, and the 747 is not a dual endorsement.
