Intercontinentals in Chicago

Just checked out of the IC O'Hare Airport and the shuttle driver mentioned to me that this property, the IC magnificent mile in downtown Chicago and the Atlanta IC were all leaving the brand and becoming something new. I asked the front desk manager during check out and he confirmed that Loews Hotel group were in the process of acquiring the three properties and would be rebranding them (2-3 month timeline).

Seeing at Chicago is just about my favorite city outside Australia I am pretty disappointed. And if true leaves IHG without an IC in Chicago.

For mind none of the other IHG properties in Chicago are up to scratch - guess I will try the Hotel Indigo - which is a brand I've enjoyed each time I have stayed there.

How was the IC in O'Hare Airport? I am planning to stay there for a couple of nights in September.

I stayed at Ohare IC a few weeks back...but the next morning ..it was sold! no kidding ..i spoke to the staff about it see article.

i was upgraded to a giant junior suite from an entry level booking ..the area is 'soulless' ..it is an airport hotel after all ..it will be a Loews hotel by the time you get there..
