Hello.
Looking to book in Adelaide, and wondering what my chances are for an upgrade at Intercontinental over Crowne plaza? I'm a IHG platinum member. Never stayed at a Intercontinental so not sure what to expect for an upgrade.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Less likely at IC but would stay there every time over CP even with a upgrade at the later

The Adelaide IC isn't bad IMO. Slightly dated decor, but every room I've had has been quite spacious and quite comfortable. I like it and would recommend.

I've not status with IHG, so can't comment on upgrade prospects but my colleague is platinum and doesn't seem to get upgraded other than to a high floor.

If you book a non river view room they may upgrade you to a river view room but I'd say that's it unless your a ambassador.

Since being IHG Platinum , Im 2/2 for upgrades , albeit that was in Hong Kong, so IMO, your chances would be good unless its an extremely busy night.

Upgrade as Plat at IC Hong Kong has no relevance to IC ADL. You will nearly always be upgraded as Plat at an IC in Asia however at IC Australia general policy is upgrade for Ambassadors only. Also I have had the full grade path at IC Adelaide confirmed to me by the hotel and have stayed there a lot of nights.
