Chatting to Double Bay IC staff this morning and they told me that the Coogee IC has had its opening delayed for another month and one it does, the lounge & spa won't be open for at least 6 months.
That rules it out for me for time being.

Iconic Sydney hotel InterContinental Double Bay is set to be demolished to make way for a new mixed-use lifestyle destination under a $1 billion redevelopment plan approved by the local planning authority.

I don’t mind it, RA treatment was average, but room rates are OK compared to the city. I always like to checkout the nearby woolies, apparently it’s a trial store for new things.

Coogee won’t be much of a substitute I suspect, although it’s come along way from when it was a holiday inn

It does say on the Coogee IC website Feb 2026.
