Scoot, the inside photos | Plane Talking

Scoot has released some cabin photos of its Boeing 777-200ER before the Singapore Airlines owned low cost carrier leaves Changi Airport tonight on the inaugural service to Sydney.

Will be interesting to see how the seat width compares to JQ, I believe the pitchly is slight more in the cheap seats.

So Y is a 3-4-3. I guess I'm not surprised. I am considering flying them to SIN later this year with the family, as the price even with the bags and meals is still much better than on virtually all other airlines. Whilst I'm happy to spend an extra few $$$ when it's just me, or even if it's me + 1, me + 5 others starts to get very expensive. (esp when 4 of them won't eat any sort of meal and one of them doesn't even get a seat)

At those prices for that product I think there will be some pretty worried JQ yield managers out there. Will be interesting to see if JQ stand up and fight Scoot in a price war or run away.....

Oh god no, JQ "Enhancements".....

Would you pick Scoot biz over SIA Y if they were the same price? It was interesting how they said the Biz seat is almost exactly the same as the QF Y+ seat.

I can picture it now, Y minus minus. The seats are replaced with exercise bikes hooked up to the engines and the captain is replace by a big bloke with a whip.

Welcome to the new Enahanced JQ.

seat pitch?

Atleast EK kind of have a bit of a trade off with 34' on some of their 777's.

From what I could see : between Jetstar (JQ) and Scoot (TZ)

JQ economy (2-4-2) at 31" seat pitch and 18" width
TZ economy (3-4-3) at 31" seat pitch and ?? width

JQ "starclass" (2-3-2) at 38" seat pitch and 20" width
TZ "biz" (2-4-2) at 38" seat pitch and ??" width

Neither can cram more seats in their respective aircraft so this will come down to whom has the lower costs and deeper pockets....

Wonder what those yellow seats will look like after an army of backpackers wipe their bare feet all over them. The photo's don't look too bad but you will never know until you get on it. At least the seats have what looks like decent padding. No wafer-thin, forward-slide recline jobbies for scoot it seems.

TZ Y is 17" width and J is 22"

You forgot about the $10 fee (per piece) for use of the overhead storage compartment, which applies to all passengers and space is allocated strictly on a first come first serve basis.

Once AA brings the 77W into service, AA and TZ will have the same seating comfort in Y as AA will also be 3-4-3 across with similar seat pitch.

Some more photos of the Business class have been posted by Scoot on Facebook:

Yep - the legroom dosen't look too bad though. Its certainly not lie flat comfort territory, and not really a true J class, but could be better than some Y seats for seat pitch. Isn't that wide either.

Width looks smaller than JQ J / QF Dom J, although on the stat above reported as more. Also very narrow divider between the seats, no spot for a drink.
