Indonesian Visa Discussion (Including Bali)

Arrgghh! I just tried to apply for another eVOA and got the error that they think I’m still there - when in fact I last exited in January last year using eGates at CGK…😳

Fired off another email - hopefully it clears… Their system is still sh$t.

Does anyone know if they accept CCs at CGK if paying on arrival?

I don’t have nor need or want any IDR and I suspect the USD, EUR, AUD equivalent will be cough exchange rate.

That's a pain. We arrived back last week from Bali and found the whole process of arrival and departure a breeze. And no more scanning of luggage to the entrance is brilliant. They've also opened more customs scanning booths as well. Last week there was the usual clueless person trying to get through customs. The staff pointed to the QR sign and tried to tell them to complete it. The woman took a photo of the scan then showed it to him 🤦‍♀️😂.

Well, that was weird.

TL;DR: For those experiencing this problem (2nd time for me and Googling suggests it's common) just try and apply for the eVOA via the electronic “Indonesian Arrivals card” process. Worked for me.

So, I’d sent an email with my previous departure info. No response and no change on the eVOA portal. Still getting the error. Googling, I discovered a chat function here:

There's also a chat function on the eVOA website but I couldn't get that one to work. Anyway, so on Friday I connected to the chat (they require Name, Phone and email) and started by saying I was having trouble applying for an eVOA because my previous visa hadn't been deactivated. The person (or Bot?) responded with:

"We apologise for the inconvenience, In order to process the update of your previous stay permit, please kindly provide the following details:
Name:
Passport Number:
Stay Permit Number:
Visa No:
Email:
Additionally, please attach:
1. Your previous visa used to enter Indonesia.
2. The visa sticker affixed to your passport.
3. The exit stamp from your passport. If your passport does not have an exit stamp (for example, because you used an automatic gate), please send us your return ticket instead so that we can contact the relevant team."
So I answered the questions, upload docs (fortunately I keep all that cough).
No subsequent reply and still receiving the “error” as of this morning. I’d at least worked out that worse case, I could pay using CC on arrival at CGK, so I went ahead and did the Indonesian Arrivals Card via the link in the QF app.
Checked the box stating that I don’t have an eVOA and completed that to get the arrivals QR code.
Thought I’d try then click thru and try to apply for eVOA via that system and it just took my payment and issued the eVOA! 🤷‍♂️.
It obviously matched to my existing eVOA portal account because the eVOA sent to me has the existing uploaded mug shot…
Curiously, I paid 524,000 IDR ($1.90 processing fee) doing it that way. SYD+1 paid 519,000 IDR ($1.06 processing fee) using the eVOA portal and I guess, I could have just paid 500,000 IDR on arrival…

I still keep getting a sex change on entry to Indonesia each time.
