Merry Christmas AFF'ers,
In a dilly of a pickle. Currently overseas, trying to book a lion air one way flight for the 27th (for 6pax) and my MasterCard is continually being rejected despite using the secure code correctly.

I have seen some reports of this being common (rejecting non Indonesian credit cards) and the workaround being to use an OTA but the only one I can see that can book the particular lion air flight is kiwi.com which has atrocious reviews.

Has anyone got any suggestions that may assist - at the moment I think the best bet is have is approaching a local TA and paying cash, but am hoping to avoid a commission. There arent enough seats on the Garuda flight at a comparable time so we are somewhat pidgeon holed to lion air if we want to fly this route.

you can book Lion Air on Tiket.com or Traveloka

it would help to know the exact route so we could check some other OTAs for you. Ctrip (china) seems to be able to book lion air. They have an english portal and accept foreign cards.

Will give them a shot - legit?

The original flight has booked out now so the other is IW1963 on the 27th (LOP to DPS in the evening)

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Was starting to get stressed when there were now no flights available for 6pax on Google flights and ITA. But I went back to the lion air site and they were still available, so hope was there.

Noticed Mrs excel still had her Citibank visa which was yet to expire, so decided to give that a shot - and after a nervous 2 minute loading page, confirmed!

TL;DR for the thread - lion air rejects Bankwest MasterCards but accepted a Citibank visa.

Used Tiket.com & Traveloka.com before with no problems. Also good to book rail
tickets in Indonesia. Cant purchase extra luggage for Lion Air flights on these websites, only on the Lion Air site.
