I dropped from WP to SG at the end of August and I have received my SG card in the mail. I have flown a couple of domestic flights over the last week and to my surprise Boarding passes still show my previous WP status. I also received an OpUp on one of these flights. Have I just been lucky or does it always take a while for downgraded status to show?

What does it say you are when you log into your account?

I wonder if this is to do with the using points to retain status? You have a period of time to accept the offer. Mine did the same when I dropped from WP to LTG recently.

MrP had ‘dropped’ to SG a few years ago, 6 months before they massively changed their website maybe 3 years ago but this drop never showed up in his profile and on BP. So continued on as WP and on Emirates we were upgraded, used First Lounge etc etc. I’ve mentioned it here before but dopey EA called up Qantas ‘complaining’ that his status was wrong, he should be Gold. I told her never to call Qantas again and banned her from booking travel :D . He’s LTG but WP is rather nice.

Anyways, this lasted for 6 months and then when Qantas changed their website his status was corrected. To SG.

Status downgrade can take a while to filter through to existjng bookings. See if you can delete this thread.

It works the other way too, I’ve had bookings that still showed SG when I’d upgraded to WP. Removing and re-adding the qff number fixes it.

Did she think WP was below Gold or something? Is she still his EA?

I was QF SG for 3 years, but they downgraded me to QF PS, pretty quickly. end of Jul this year, my anniversary month.
No complementary keeping at SG in my case.
I do not fly all QF that much, now that EK does not fly to NZ except CHC, so, yes, I know why I dropped down a tier in the QF status ladder, ...
They don't forget in some sense, so if you are still shown as WP, hush hush is best.

At least you can’t drop any further
