thanks for that info

I need to give them a call anyway as I think they stuffed up my points for my per-mel leg last week, I received my base points but I didn't receive my 75% gold status points bonus, not sure if that has something to do with my account being in review as the review dat was 23 march buts its been in review for 5 days. I maintained gold anyway

I might ask them to clarify on those booking issues anyway with domestic/international itineraries.

Was this fare a Getaway (M,S,T) if so it does not get the bonus as of 30 JAN 2017

Thanks for the heads up on this, we have SYD > MEL > NAN booked (in business saver) in mid-May and I was banking on 55 SC as the earn rate for SYD > MEL to re-qualify for SG (my review date is first week of June) - but looks like it might be 40 SC as the earn rate? Good to know in advance, will need to plan for another 30 SC in the next 2 months....

Don't bother. Today I received yet another email from Velocity on this matter, this time an apology as after a "thorough review" of the booking, it's now been decided that the PER-SYD flight was in fact part of an international itinerary (so why didn't they come to that conclusion the first time?) and I should only have received 80 SCs after all. However as a "goodwill" gesture, they're not going to take back the extra 10 SCs. **sigh**.

Thought it was unusual that you were told the incorrect information earlier – at least you get the keep the bonus for your efforts

If short-haul international are treated the same as long haul international itineraries (which it appears they are, as they're on the same earn table), then it looks like you would only get 40 SCs for SYD-MEL.

It probably got sent up the chain in Veocity to get 'fixed'. Then when it got looked at in depth, that was the answer.

Yes, that's probably it, although it seems odd that they said "oh yes, we've reviewed your booking and you're correct" and gave me the extra SCs and then a week later, send another email saying "well, actually, we've reviewed your booking and oops, you weren't entitled to those SCs after all". Both emails came from the same person at Velocity.

oops I must of missed that part, so us golds will not get the 75% points bonus on the getaway fares? I will have another look

I have PER-SYD and SYD-PER next week on a elevate fare so I will get it on that I assume? I will soon see anyway.

but we will get the bonus on an international booking under a getaway? As I noticed I did get it last month, my outbound PER-SYD-LAX was a full flex and the return was the basic getaway and I received the bonus on both legs out and in.

I am yet to fly international since the new earn rates but no one gets status bonuses on Getaway fares domestically anymore for this reason (and the SCs) I am now booking Elevate or Freedom (unless the price difference is ridiculously huge)

I got the points bonus on my return leg SYD-PER from the international itinerary with a getaway fare earlier this month so I can only assume its only when on a domestic booking only do you lose the bonus points and not part of a international booking, otherwise you will get the 75% points loading.

im the same as you however will be looking to elevate or higher, I have PER-SYD, SYD-PER on sunday and Friday next week and I went with the elevate.

Was just checking the Earning Status Credits page on the Velocity website to double-check the SC earn for an upcoming domestic trip and notice some of the headings have been updated to now read:

Domestic earn table: Domestic flights flown from 30 January 2017 not including flights flown as part of an International journey.

International earn table: International Short Haul, Trans Tasman, Long Haul Flights and Domestic flights flown as part of an international journey flown from 30 January 2017.

The bolded parts definitely weren't there previously (I had that page printed out before my trip for easy reference when I was working out SCs for the various sectors), so I assume I wasn't the only one who queried the SC earn for these flights! At least now it's clearly stated on the website so hopefully that will prevent others experiencing the same confusion/incorrect information I did.

The difference in SC earn for domestic flights on international itineraries works itself out over time.

I had a domestic sector of a Freedom Y international fare credit 40 SC instead of 45 SC (loss). The same domestic sector on a later Getaway Y international fare credited 20 SC instead of 15 SC (gain), along with a status bonus. So it all worked out in the end.
