There are no formal nights on short cruises

LOL :D

Does anyone know the dress code for the cruise. I don’t expect a formal night really but probably should check. Don’t want to look like an underdressed slob.
From previous experience Princess does not do formal nights on 4 night cruises.
Smart casual is always a good in between.

You would cut quite a figure wearing a tiara in the buffet. :p
Obviously not Cunard.:(
Maybe we could make the Tiara the AFF uniform? Must think of something for the gents. Unless that’s being too gender specific. They could wear the tiara too.

Funny you should mention tiaras. When I stayed in a cottage at Balmoral Castle, my friend took a photo of me in one....hanging out the washing. I looked quite fetching! :D

Just a reminder to non frequent cruisers that you may need to take out separate cruise travel insurance for this cruise. Medicare doesn't cover you on a cruise ship, even for a domestic one, so hoping you don't fall down the stairs or similar :).

My annual travel insurance policy has the provision of a refund of $1000 for a missed port, due to adverse weather conditions or mechanical breakdown.
I'll be happy either way, whether we land at Kangaroo Island and Port Lincoln or not. Definitely don't want to miss Adelaide though. Otherwise, it would be a very lonely cruise, except for everyone else who gets on in Melbourne.

To keep the perspective. The real reason that the TI is needed as the ships medical staff are most probably not registered with Medicare so TI is needed if you need to claim.

sinophile888, who is your policy with as that’s an interesting clause?

It's not just international though is it?
I will double check, but I am pretty sure it was for all cruises.

Annual insurance covers cruises in Australia.
Weird I know but I checked.

Might check mine as we have a missed ports provision too.

My policy is with insureandgo. I have had a checkered medical history over the last 4 years and found it very hard to get travel insurance; I had 13 rejections. But insureandgo agreed to cover me (at a price) and have been very easy to deal with, so far. I needed to make a big claim a while back and it all went smoothly. The price for travellers without pre-existing conditions seems quite competitive.

Same. Because of the medical stuff too. Looks like I’m covered too for missed ports.

Agree it is mainly the medical that is needed - I couldn't care less about missed ports etc. though if it was Adelaide, I'd be in trouble! Sinopohile might be laughing then! An onboard consultation is expensive! I have only had to see a doctor on board a ship once (touch wood) and luckily he did not charge as it was a noro outbreak and it would've been several hundred had I had to have paid. I got drugs and a shot as well luckily. The big costs come if a passenger needs to be medi-vacced.

Not too long now......:)

As Coffin Bay is only about 45km from Port Lincoln I have booked a rental car for the 26th and have also booked 2 spots for the 1pm tour at Contact Us - Oyster Farm Tours

Now I just need the weather to co operate
