I'm stepping down from the AFF editor role

No idea. I just saw Matt's name on the Points Hacks staff page and made the assumption he was going there???

Thank you to everyone for your well wishes, they mean a lot.

Perhaps YouTuber time? 😉

I'd say that's unlikely! 😝

All the best, Matt. We have learnt a lot from you. Not good if you were pushed out.

This smacks of Point Hacks/AFF cost-cutting. I've often wondered how fiscally viable blog-type websites are.

To be clear, it was 100% my decision to move on. It has nothing to do with cost-cutting and no, I wasn't pushed out.

This has been a great job for me for 11 years, but that's a long time in the same role, and I'm ready for a new challenge. I'm looking forward to starting a new career in a different job after a proper break.

And you'll probably still see some new articles of mine on AFF in the foreseeable future, as I'll be one of several freelance writers that will contribute articles to the website next year.

There's nothing to see here. No, I'm not moving to Point Hacks. I've been listed as Australian Frequent Flyer editor on that page some time, as Point Hacks has owned AFF since 2022.

Good luck in your future endeavors Matt wherever and whatever they may be. Thanks for the wisdom and knowledge.
