I'm in the QF Lounge thread

So they still have the large lamp globes? I am looking forward to Qantas F lounge in June. Unlikely to keep QP as very little flying before anniversary date. But have LTG so back to INT QJ and Dom QC. I'll be seeing those globes again. I'll keep in touch.
Depending when your year ends there is status extension available: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/status-and-clubs/status/status-support.html

As for whether there will be any further status extensions beyond those already announced remains to be seen.

As was previously mentioned, if your membership end date is sometime by the end of this year, there is a status extension promotion running. So long as you've booked one flight on QF or on a points earning JQ international flight (e.g. JQ Japan, JQ Asia, JQ New Zealand) on or after February 28, 2022 and take that flight by December 31, 2022 your status will extend by a year. For QF marketed and operated flights, this can either be a cash fare or even an award fare (either classic award or points+pay) so something super trivial like a SYD > MEL turn on a classic award on QF right now should do the trick.

PER-SIN today on QF71, went to the J-lounge but was refused entry and told to go to the international transit lounge. I knew it was open to those on QF71 if they wanted it, but I didn't realise it was mandatory...

Thanks. I received a message from Qantas saying my airpoints won't expire if I take a flight before the anniversary date. I will check out the website.

In Sydney First now. The old lady crying in the corner cause she left her tablet at home
But a very worthwhile guest opportunity for someone who can retrieve it and meet you there…!

Thanks. Just confirmed on Q website good for another year after flights in June 2022. Not sure how many guests I can have but will check. QF on 24 June about 4 pm.

In Sydney international Business lounge now. First time back here since Covid.
Feels weird. Pretty basic food etc. Just feels like a normal domestic lounge. Someone from First lounge please rescue me. Dont fly out till 1pm.

Are the new winter menus at the Syd & Mel First lounges yet? Anyone have any pics?

The SYD F lunch/dinner menu has been posted here:

Possibly not the right thread for this, but it looks like Qantas has recognised their lounges need improvement - they've just posted several job openings for Lounge CX Managers. Hopefully a sign of improvements coming.

So rather than acting on the feedback provided over the last few years, they are hiring people to be there to say "yes, what customers are telling us is correct"? Hopefully improvements do follow and they are not just there to come up with ways to say that "we are sorry we do not meet your expectations".

Apologies but I am very cynical at the moment with hotels, airlines, etc basically blaming the customer for having expectations on what they have bought or are entitled to as advertised.

In MEL Dom J lounge till about 2:30pm.
Updates here welcome!
