I'm going to need to call QF about this flight change, aren't I?

We have a slightly tricky trip next month for the Teen's Top Secret Adventure.

We are flying BNE-SYD-DFW-MCO on a Saturday, and all 3 of us are on separate bookings, the big leg's in Y+. The Teen's on a points redemption, Mr Katie and I are paid flights, just separate PNRs.

QF have now cancelled our QF511 flight to SYD and put us on QF515, which arrives at 10:55 connecting to QF7 departing at 12. That's too tight for my comfort.

When I look online at the Teen's and my flights, I can't change from QF515 to 507, which they're still selling tickets for and EF is showing plenty of availability. For me online, QF is only giving me the option to leave a day early. For the Teen, it's only giving her options to route through to QF21 ex MEL.
I can't look at Mr Katie's booking without his phone. :P

To just get us all onto QF507 on our original departure day, I'm going to need to call Qantas, aren't I?
It's frustrating that online I'm not just getting an option to change the one flight that's been changed, only to change the whole dang booking.

Yes, as the QF515 meets minimum connection time the only way is to HUACA.
When ever I have had MEL-SYD-CHC or MEL-BNE-CHC flights beit in economy award, economy cash or business cash ticket (as silver or gold status) have got to airport early. Then asked for an earlier flight. Never been refused, but only 1 passenger. Harder with 3. Not a certainty. Always a checked just before leaving home if seats were for sale on the earlier flights,

Have read of the term "to complete party" to link separate bookings. But may be a USA ~ FT thing.

65 minutes connection from domestic ot international in Sydney? That would involve going down to the station, catch the train and back up to departure level to for customs and security. That is very tiger consider you may get out of your plans by 11:00am, catch train at 11:15 to be at international at 11:20 and hope you can get past custom and security and run to your gate by 11:45 which is when the gate closes.

No. You can go to SYD T3 gate 15 and get the QF bus across to T1. QF swipe your boarding pass at gate 15, so the QF system knows where are. Then security and emigration at SYD T1, before a swift walk to the gate for boarding.

By Y+ is that economy plus (as now sold by QF) or PE premium economy?

This is definitely a thing - I have have 3x bookings saved because the bookings were *linked* via *the complete party* thingy. @Katie

But from what I'm told adding TCP does not guarantee that all 3 pnrs will be looked into together. It is a thing that airline agents can see and action, if they know where to look at? I have heard many versions of what TCP can do. But it had worked once, so far, in my favour.

Ive had a situation where all 3 pax got on flights earlier to due flight change which made connection times too close for comfort like this. However 1 pax had to go down on a different earlier flight to the other two.
