Hi All,

Just wanted to point out to all a major change on in the IHG Loyalty program. One of the best things about the IGH Program was that the points would never expire. However this is about to change.
I received a mail about a month ago with the new policy change.
"Starting in May 2016, we will expire all points if there's no account activity in the prior 12 months."
It may be worthwhile to review alternative memberships if a person travel infrequently.
Table from the pointsguy. I updated the priority club

Should have updated to match include the activity within 12 months, to match Accor and SPG. It's not a hard expiry.

Also there is a thread on this already, IIRC

Yes this was mentioned in the program changes thread.

Still not that bad. Should be easy to have some sort of activity every 12 months if you have 5,000 or more IHG points in account.

I am not sure if this excluded as points earn but you could book a room on points + pay then cancel the booking.
