IHG Friends and Family rate

A question for the experts.

I have gone onto the IHG website for Friends and Family and tried to book some nights in Thailand. The friends and family rate appears and when I click on reserve the following error message appears

'An error occurred.

This is for Friends and Family of employees.You are not authorized to book the reservation using Friends and Family rate.'

Am I doing something wrong?

What URL are you originally using to make the booking? I've seen them shut down some of the "employee referral links" for various reasons.

I tried a couple and went as far as confirming?

Holiday Inn Silom and Holiday Inn Bangkok. The rate displayed is not the same as the *Best Available* rate.

No big deal as the discount is $20-$30/night but just trying to save some momey getting the 10 nights for crack the case. After all PC points is not gojng to be an issue after crack the case.

John I have also been having some different difficulties with the F&F rate trying to book rooms in MEL and SYD. There seems to be some inconsistencies in the rate availability when searching the site. I posted a query on Flyertalk and it seems other people have also been having some problems with the rate being available.

I've had that happen once. Tried again and the booking went through normally.

You could always go to Priority Club Connect - Priority Club Connect and find another employee to use.

It counts as it is a paid stay.
