If the 767 fleet goes altogether does that mean QFI will fly A330's to Honolulu??

Not with a stop in NAN

Happy wandering

Afraid to say they still will struggle to even get to NAN on the westward run with a heavy load. FJ use a stop on the way at APW or CXI. Anyway, it's not going to happen so of academic interest only.

Btw. I think they should scrap the JQ service and infrastructure and just run a daily 744ER. That would be great and cough on HA.

They used to do that, was one of my favourite flights, but it wasn't the ER

If memory serves me correct, I think it was the 743 aircraft that did that sector before
using it on the SYD-PER & SYD-CNS (this is some time ago)

No actual date on the A330 taking over, so I will believe it when I see it.

Not sure why Qantas didn't think of a 737-800 on Perth-Singapore, or why Jetstar don't include a 787 on Perth-Singapore,

Can't believe anything Qantas do at the moment.

There is a lot of fixed costs and a lot of competition on the PER-SIN route, I do wonder how realistic it would be to expect a profit using a B738. It would be interesting to see the sums though, especially considering all the codeshares on the route.

The point made elsewhere about PER-SIN now having no oneWorld service is a significant issue...

They used them until January 2007, before that it was 742's and at times 763's

ABT, "Of greater appeal at the pointy end will be the A330's angled flat Skybed seats in business class, replacing the Boeing 767's recliners, with the promise of better things to come." :D promises promises

Re: If the 767 fleet goes altogether does that mean QFI will fly A330's to Honolu...

I think one of the issues with PER-SIN is that a lot of the traffic on that route used to continue onward to Europe and without viable onward connections, they couldn't sustain O&D traffic. One of the more hopeful (and according to my source likely) rumours is that the launch route for the refurbished Business Suite A330s will be PER-HKG for connections onward to China and the like. Anyway, believe it when I see it.

Qantas has kind of said to the people of Perth we don't care and it shows and of course the reason for no onward connections is the terrible connection times, about the only thing is connected to was other Jetstar flights.

FWIW it was announced as part of last weeks announcements, with 763s going what choice do they have, there is clearly money there although increasing competition may see that change soon....

Maybe not this year given the extra services:

From the QF earning page on aa.com

Exception: Qantas codeshare flights operated by Jetstar are ineligible for any AAdvantage mile accrual/elite credit.

The OneWorld flight reference was important.
