Ice-cold cutlery in business class

I think the real issue here is the exploding milk sachets back in pleb class.

I can't say I really care what the temperature my cutlery is!

Just came off long haul and the butter was spreadableand by the time I'd buttered my bread, the soup spoon was fine to use. The main course cutlery was room temp by the time I touched it too.

If it bothers people, why not simply polish it a few times in the napkin?

... and there's no issue with cold cutlery up the back. Plastic has the advantage of usually feeling OK to the touch. :p

Recently flew CX PER-HKG return and encountered the very cold cutlery, and wondered why. My thoughts are, if you're going to serve a hot meal, you should'nt serve it on a cold plate, nor with cold cutlery. Room temperature covers all bases.

Are we still really talking about this. I can remember back a few years after a couple of disasters we all ate with plastics and we remembered and spoke of those who had perished and not what type of spoon we used with the cavier

Your tagline seems particularly appropriate.

Well that sucks. Despite the cold cutlery, when I flex CX F earlier this year I definitely had a mother-of-pearl caviar spoon to eat my tin of Venise.

Personally the cold metal cutlery is one of those sensations that I associate with travelling on a plane, along with the smell of the jet fuel, the high pitch of background noise, the sound of a closing storage latch all evoke memories of flying for me.
Also I do not think the metal remains that cold to affect your meal, my cutlery set was pretty much room temperature after I set out the table cloth, and arranged the glasses and silverware while the FA was getting my meal ready from her trolley.

What about the rock hard butter and chilled cheese. I mean, really!

If they can give me warmed nuts in a bowl, how hard can it be to deliver the cutlery at room temperature?
