Flying to Sydney tomorrow to set myself up there with daylight saving beginning (don't want to have to get an OMG o'clock flight on Monday, given I'll lose an hour). Yes, crazy as it's a public holiday but the things you do for clients who are teachers.

Utilising my newly minted Gold Accor status and stay booked at the ibis Thornleigh property, really handy for my first client appointment less than 1 km away. Has anybody stayed there and have any first hand experience - sure I've read the online stay comments and checked out all the photos and videos, but would rather have AFF input. I've stayed at Ibises in MEL and Brisbane airport, presuming it will be like MEL.

Can use online check-in, so very interested to know about road noise, given it's on Pennant Hills Road - so presumablt there will be rooms to avoid if at all possible.

Well, a stay report will have to do.

It’s a 20min walk from Thornleigh train station, probably further from Normanhurst. It’s on Pennant Hills Road, so easy access from it or Central Avenue.

Close to a McDonalds (along with Maccas HQ), a Dan Murphy’s down the road along with an ALDI’s and some restaurants - I saw a Chinese about 300m.

Walk through the front door straight to Front Desk, with sofas in the foyer on left and the breakfast/dinner area and bar on right. As expected, it’s compact. Lift is on left after check-in.

Room Is serviceable:

Yes, that’s the bathroom door on the right

Very compact bathroom but all I need for a 1 night stay.

Sorry late to this but my daughters’ school is near this hotel and we always avoided staying there for school functions as there are much better options in Chatswood.
Sebel if you want Accor benefits and Meriton if you don’t.

@Princess Fiona, agree it’s only serviceable if on a budget or maybe coming to McDonalds HQ or Burger University for Maccas execs. Unlikely to need to stay again but it’s a stay credit and some points.

Room was tiny - at least the internet was free and all I needed
