Ibis Business €90 for one year / €159 2 yrs (See here) comes with comp ALL Accor Gold status as well as some discounts on Ibis hotels, F&B worldwide. It’s been a while since I last signed up last, and as it was that was extended at least one year and then my Gold status had further Covid extensions that finally ended 31 Dec - so I dropped back to Silver.

Unless some other Fastrack or status match promo comes along I’ll probably pay for 1 yr IB prior to my next Accor booking/stay. The Gold status should update immediately but what I can’t remember is if that will automatically show Gold expiry until Dec 2024 or only Dec 23 and rollover further 12 mths on 01 Jan 23?

For example, if I paid today (03 Jan 23), I’ll have Gold at least for the remainder of the year. Then on 31 Dec because I still have IB, that Gold status should be extended until Dec 24 - even though the IB will expire on or around 03 Jan 24. So almost 2 yrs guaranteed ALL Accor Gold.

Obviously, delaying this until needed will maximise the limited usefulness of the IB benefits.

I think you are correct, my IB expirers in July but my ALL account shows my gold as finishing 31 Dec 23

Thanks. Coincidently, I think my IB expired in July last year.

Do you recall if yours was showing 31 Dec 23 when you signed up last year or just Dec 22 (then recently rolled over to Dec 23)? I have a vague recollection mine used to do the later, but I could be wrong. Either way, paying for IB early in the year should give Gold for almost 2 years.

As an aside I read in another thread recently that one earns higher than Gold status, apparently the trick then is to buy Accor+. They take your current status and extend to the end of the following year (or give comp Silver if you’re base level).

Mine showed an expiry of Dec 22 and then on the 1st of Jan it automatically changed to Dec 23
Yep. My brain isn’t as bad afterall…😁

Now to work out if there’s a caveat on buying IB between Jan and Jun and getting the extra status bump - I don’t think there is and I probably won’t be doing it for a few months anyway.

Not sure if this is the correct place , but still will ask.If I get IB in Mar , do I get the Accor Gold status as I have few upcoming stays in Brussels and Paris in Apr 2023. Currently I am Accor+ Silver. Thanks

Yes, the status upgrade should be immediate.

Edit: however, just remembered that the Accor system struggles with A+ and IB at the same time. I believe?

It does. They won't sign me up to A+ on the same account as the one with the IB card attached.

Hello, so I can extend my Gold status for another year when I purchase another year of Ibis Business? Of this is just for the first purchase of Ibis Plus?

Yes, Ibis Biz includes Gold status for at least the period paid for (and usually longer as discussed earlier).

Accor Plus only offers complementary Silver status - but a range of other perks.

My Gold status when I bought Ibis Biz (in Jan) originally expired 31/12/23.

A recent logon however now has me expiring 31/12/24....

Biz still expires 31/01/24 however....

With the revampe, it looks like they are moving to giving you 10 nights a year, in lieu of gold status

(Wish Accor Plus dished out silver that way :) )

LL suggests it’s in addition to Gold?

Maybe that is LLs interpretation. However, the page all plus ibis

says:
"A minimum of Gold status with all its benefits is guaranteed for the duration of your current subscription."

which doesn't say much about what happens when you renew. Also the new T&Cs make no reference to getting Gold.

Yeah, I read it the same way as you the first time hence my earlier comment about renewing before the 22nd.

I’ll keep an eye out for other coverage to see how this is being interpreted.

Received an eMail confirming the new IB program is in play and also received the comp 10 nights in my account.
As per the gist of this thread, it looks like my legacy Ibis Biz subscription has continued to extend Gold status until at least 31 Dec 2024 but there was a period where it went into the unknown…

Back in March I signed up for 2yrs of Ibis Biz just prior to the revamp to ALL PLUS Ibis. At the time, I received the usual comp Gold status immediately with exp 31 Dec 2024 (which is normal - remainder of the current calendar year and then the full year following - as if you’d qualified for Gold*).

If they hadn’t made changes to Ibis Biz, I would have expected Gold status to then be extended on or around 31 Dec 2024 to 31 Dec 2025 because my IB subscription was still active.

At some point this year (not entirely sure) but after the revamp and gifting of the 10 comp nights, I noticed in the app that my Gold status was going to expire now on 31 Dec 2023! Which didn’t seem right and maybe they’d retrospectively wound back the Ibis Biz perks? I also hadn’t stayed a lot under my name because SYD+1 was trying to get nights in to retain Gold (after letting IB lapse 🙄**).

Anyway, for now I seem to be getting the best of both programs.

BTW, the new 15% discount from ALL Plus Ibis around the world seems to be more reliable/consistent than the old Ibis Biz 5% to 10% sometimes.

*does ALL still work this way? If you qualify for a higher level your membership shows expiry 31 Dec the following year?

**interesting experience a few weeks ago. SYD+1 booked a hotel while Ibis Biz was active at the time of booking and received the discount on a “Pay at hotel” rate. But by the time of the stay Ibis Biz subscription had expired. Checkin desk person kept asking to see an Ibis Biz card…! We talked our way around that but it could be a trap for other subscriptions? A+? Who knows what, if anything wou
d have said if it was a prepaid rate…🤷‍♂️

I called someone at All Plus Ibis before renewing my membership as I'm a Gold due to the Ibis business card.

Call centre agent confirmed that I would keep my Gold status due to a Fast Track promotion but Newbies buying their first paid ALL Plus Ibis card would only get Silver status.

YMMV - Trust but Verify
