IATA Covid-19 digital travel pass

Interesting! What’s the Swiss certificate got to do with EU countries?

Friends are off the Italy in March and Australian certificates are not accepted there either.
The Swiss issue a certificate that is widely accepted in the EU. The Australian certificate is not accepted in most/all of EU.

Thanks. I’ll send on the info to them!
As per @straitman
We got the Swiss certificates so we could easily access venues in Italy.
You must provide proof of a hotel or airline booking for Switzerland to apply for it.
Once approved it’s emailed to you. It works throughout Europe.
Hat tip to Flighthacks which is where I read about this.

Yes.

Our daughter and family came home to Oz for Christmas. For reasons various their 17yo son has stayed with us and they have taken other daughters 18yo daughter back with them. We went through the process of getting this for the 18yo.

I have just tried to set this up. I am flying with Qantas at the weekend. I am completely stuck on scanning my vaccination certificate - when I select Australia it opens the camera and says it's trying to scan a QR code. However, it will not scan either my international vaccination certificate QR code, or my normal vaccine certificate QR code. Have had to give up.

My partner and I are due to fly from San Francisco to Rome via Frankfurt early March. I see the Italy requires a "Super Green Pass" but I am not clear on how to obtain that. The websites I've looked at are somewhat confusing. Any assistance would be apprecited. I trust this is an appropriate place to ask my question. Thank you.

Have flights booked to NZ on NZ in March (am citizen). Travel Pass App says "Your COVID-19 health certificates do not meet the requirements for your journey. Please contact Air New Zealand to discuss alternative arrangements"

Hmmmm

Managed to set up the IATA Travel pass for our flight tomorrow. There doesn't seem to be a placeholder for the UK Passenger Locator form, so still some paperwork to carry.

My friend flew Air NZ yesterday for the opening and said the same thing, but that no one at any point asked for it. They have NZ Immigration before the check in line checking documentation (along with ground staff), then check in staff ask again, then you show customs in NZ all your evidence again of certificate and negative test. They did the hisopath at the airport, which is an IATA credited lab, and the QR code didn't scan into the app. The app is useless.

Is anyone still using this app? Flying with Emirates next week on QF flight numbers so felt obliged to try and use it.. However cannot even scan my passport in successfully... Gave up and reading the reviews on Play Store seems that everyone else has too...

Will report back on how mine goes tomorrow.

Completely useless. My suspicion about this app back in Nov 21 has proven correct.
Another example of overhyped IT spruikers under-delivering from their disconnected virtual world.

It will be interesting to hear whether you judge that your use of the IATA app leads to any increased speed/ease with the check-in process.

I fully intended to use it for my UK trip Dec-Feb but, after running into the same kind of technical glitches mentioned by others, I gave up in the week before departing SYD. Some related observations from my trip:
  • At EK check-in at SYD in Dec an agent was checking pax paper docs as one arrived to join the J/F queue: we were issued with a slip of paper to present on reaching the desk but I still needed to show the ICVC again at the desk. All very analogue but quite fast.
  • At SYD the only other pax I saw showing a phone to the first doc-checker took longer to be processed and there was no sign of scanning or digital verification being done, so he may not have had the IATA app.
  • In London as the date of my return flight approached I wanted to give the IATA app another go. But I found that only two UK Covid test providers were (according to the QF website) able to offer a test certificate compatible with the IATA app: as neither of those providers appealed to me in terms of off-airport location and price I again gave up.
  • At LHR T3 check-in for QF2 I again produced my folder of printed docs and was processed very quickly, though some others took an age to complete check-in. I was looking around to see if anyone appeared to be using the IATA app but saw nothing definite: there was much scrolling and scrutiny of phone screens, though, which looked frankly less efficient than showing print-outs.
There are other competing apps, of course. UK-resident family and friends have successfully used VeriFLY for transatlantic travel.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip. And you will be taking hard copy docs as back-up in case there are issues with the IATA app or your phone, won’t you?;)

Does anyone know any hidden trick to remove a booking from it. I accidently added my husbands PNR instead of mine.

I can't even get my IATA app past the selfie screen. It takes the selfie and then completely black screens out. I've tried to email them for assistance but an getting radio silence.

For all that QF seem to push the IATA app, giving reminders before flights, no one at the airport in SYD or LHR asked to see it. They preferred the paper.

It never likes my selfie, so it closes out, but then I don't like selfies anyway.
