Looks like my lowly bronze status is coming to an end - but I need 10 SC's by Mar 31 and the only travel I have booked is all on points.

Looking at a quick trip with the wife to Mel or Syd, but how do
I know how many status points I get for a trip?

If I book an internet special, ADL-SYD return, will that trip give me the 10SC's I need?

Any QF flight will earn you a minimum of 10 SCs, so if you just need 10, then your next paid flight will get you there

You'd earn 30 SC's each for ADL-SYD rt (15 SC's each way) if booked online as red e-deals at Qantas.com.

The previous posters have provided the number of SCs gained.

To find out how many you earn for a particular trip, refer to the table here It is mileage-based in bands, so you'll need to know how many miles your trip is...to do that refer to mileage monkey, and plug the city names into the appropriate box(es) e.g. plug ADL-SYD in the 'point-to-point' box, press GO, then scroll down and you'll see 724 miles as the distance.

The only thing to be careful of is that when distances are very close to a band level (e.g. 603 miles) on mileage monkey, Qantas' mileage may vary a little and be say 598 miles, depriving you of 5 SCs you thought you were getting.

Edit: Hmm, the calculator just posted previously does look a little simpler! I didn't realise it listed SCs as wll as points...learn something every day here.

Qantaslink have recently re-introduced flights from Adelaide to Port Lincoln. Even that would earn you the required 10 SCs.

^^ That table is invaluable when calculating how many SCs are earnt for other oneworld partners .. unfortunately the Qantas calculator will only provide figures for cities served by QF flights.
