I was impressed with the hot chicken pie served today, perhaps the summer menu is going and we are back to something decent?

Us too, had a cold chicken, salad n rice lunch in a box today, tasted not to bad actually, while it's cost cutting, they sure cleared the cabin up super quick after.

Partners dinner last night was cold chicken salad. Sigh. Any chance of something hot for dinner?

Had this bad boy on my PER-DRW flight last week - pretty damn good if you ask me! The others in my row all seemed to agree!

Going back to something decent, I hope so. That was my lunch today on QF926... I'm just hoping QF is slow to update that route and that it's not a permanent change to 105g and only 105g of blah.

Says something about level of dissatisfaction when a thread is started saying food was good: the whole point being that good food should be unremarkable, and poor food the unusual occurrence.

(But hope it lasts...taking middle offspring on his first flight next week and he's so excited).

I thought the same thing! When you get a thread saying that a chicken pie was a nice lunch, it says something about the general quality of food around!

I have to say, a pie ( regardless of filling) is, if done properly a really nice meal, wether on a plane or not.

There are sensational pies around. However, the pies I have had on domestic economy would not be out of place in the pie warmer at the corner shop. Not sure what Markis10 got that made it special!

A hot lunch was special in itself, the fact it was tasty, relatively nutritious and perfectly cooked was a big bonus, especially as I was served halfway through the service.

Which, I think brings us back to the point of the state of catering at QF, if a hot lunch is special!!
