With the impending obsolescence of airplanes with 4 engines, I find it amusing that airlines and the community at large still hugely identify with airplanes in this configuration. Just take all the airplane icons you see.

Some examples:
This one from the 'smiles' drop down - ✈

Some others I've plucked from the internet:

While we’re at it, I gestured to my 14 year old to ’wind’ the car window up with the ‘circular arm motion’ and he thought there was something wrong with me!

The car that I recently disposed of still has wind up windows

My granddaughter came home really excited after being driven home in a school friends parents car.

"Their car is really cool, they have fishing reels in the back and they make the windows go up and down."

I thought it was a 51/4 " disk :)
Not to get too hung up on it, but the missing corner and the slide-in-place metal cover at the top point to it being a 3 1⁄2-inch format disk. This is different to both the 3 1/4-inch format disk and 5 1/4-inch format disk in that both did not have a missing corner or a slide-in-place metal cover (it was more of a vertical orientation than the horizontal one). :p

It is weird that some of the icons we use that are universal are based on technology that isn't relevant anymore.

There was a video a while ago of a dad watching his two teenagers try to dial a number on a rotary phone. Funny.

And Ho Chi Minh city is still SGN and Beijing is still PEK..... and people still ask for Fax numbers.....

The medical profession still uses faxes, it’s a systemic thing.

.............and a couple of banks still use faxes for documents as well as sending forms out via snail mail instead of emailing the blank forms.:mad:
