We will be posting all the details and booking info early in January. We are having another planning lunch at the Vineyards very early January to finalize a couple of things.
Should be a great weekend hopefully !!

There are just some things you have to do in order to organise these events.

Are there any places left for wine weekend in hunter ?

Hi lili2,

Yes at this stage there are a few places left. Last count in July, soon after this event was announced we had 24 on board. I strongly suggest that you organise accomodation sooner rather than later as prices are always high over the weekends in the Hunter.

Oh! I thought the event was capped at 24 so didn't even ask

So glad you did, lili2!

The the numbers are definitely capped at 30 as that is the most the wineries can cope with at one time. I really had to push to get the numbers increased. The details will be announced in early January.

In-case I had not confirmed already I am confirming now for prozac +1. :)

A reminder to those that have not booked accomodation yet please do so very soon as prices are rising rapidly and quite a few places already booked out that weekend. The main pick up points will be,

1. CESSNOCK exact pick up point to be advised.

2. CROWNE PLAZA.

3. ALONG BROKE Rd, but only between Wine Country Drive and McDonalds Rd.

The organisers of this event are having a trial lunch tomorrow !! Planning a wine tour is hard work !!

For anyone interested in getting a lift, I'll be hiring a car from SYD after arriving Friday 19th QF1508 at 2:20pm and I'm departing from SYD at 1:00pm on the 21st on QF435 to MEL (planning to arrive at airport at 11:30am). I'm going to Pokolbin Village, but can drop off elsewhere, I guess.

I'd be happy to wait for a while at SYD on 19th and to leave for the airport earlier than needs be on 21st if that suits people needing a lift.

Count me as a pick-up at Pokolbin Village, jojen :) .

I've been slack... and so haven't booked accommodation. Air BNB has found me some good rates though (provided other AFFers don't steal what I've found :p) and I'm wondering if I should go for something dirt cheap in NTL (McCormack Street) or a little pricier but still not as expensive as the motels and hotels in Cessnock?

Who is staying in Newcastle?

I am yet to book Accom, but should get onto that.

When is the last train back to Sydney?

I think you should be able to find a nice dirt cheap spot somewhere between the trellises. Don't know about BnB, but plenty of Air :)

Never mind the train ... see above.

I will drive up on Friday evening at 6 ish and stay until Sunday.
Will bring my X5 so could potentially offer a lift from NTL en-route to Pokolbin on the Friday evening. Car fits 6 pax plus myself.
I will also be able to do a drop off at NTL on the Sun depending on the timing.

So the advice is not to stay in Newcastle itself? I thought there was talk of transport from there at some stage?

I'll have my car, but do want to drink! :p

I am very confused now... so I am sleeping among the vines?
