How's the Brisbane Sofitel Club Lounge rate?

Do they serve breakfast?

Yes they do. Reasonable selection of cold cuts and cheeses, good breads, some yogurts and cereals/muesli. Plus poached or scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages tomato and mushrooms as the hot selections in the buffet. I've seen them bring up food from the restaurant when guests have special requirements but don't think it's common or advertised.

A decent breakfast for a lounge. Not as good as the Melb Sofitel, but far cheaper!

Excellent, I booked a cheap room (July 2017) for $132.50 on the last sale (I am presuming that Plats get access?), we need to get the 0701 airtrain from Central to the domestic terminal, do you know what time the lounge opens?

Plats get access. I think it is open at 6am BUT I've never been up at that hour so can't confirm! Was there 10 days ago but just can't remember precisely. Email the hotel to be sure.

The airtrain is very convenient.

I have done something similar, but not as early as 7:01. From what I can recall the lounge should open at 6:30 but my experience was the door locked until about 6:35 because the attendants were still "setting up". Indeed, only about 75% set up when I did get in. Still made a 7:20 ish airtrain.

I'd recommend completing check out paperwork before the lounge opens and making a request to the reception team (for early access) while doing it. Other options to speed things up are express checkout and I gave seen others check-out in the lounge... but i'd guess they will be fairly busy 6:30-7:00.

Yeah, it's Accor anyway. The exact same pastries in Sofitel lounge were also in the QF J lounge. Six of one...

Food and variety is far superior in the Sofitel - especially to the QP but even the J lounge. But probably not as enjoyable if watching the clock.

You should get an express envelope under the door morning of departure which you can then sign and hand to a lounge attendant. No need to checkout or queue up. I always check out in person, but this is an option if time demands.
