How will the falling dollar effect your travel plans

A ticket MEL-LAX was under $1100, brought about 5 weeks before our November departure. I used points and the taxes etc only cost $400 MEL-NYC return, same flight now is over $900 in taxes.

I did MEL-NYC for $1300, also November but 2009.

Wont affect us.Our major expense in recent years has been our cruises on Silverseas.Until last year I always took the price in USD and smiled as our dollar went up.Then last year Silverseas insisted we have our cruises priced in AUD and I am still smiling.

Doesn't seem to have effected Virgin Australia who have reduced business class fares to the US early next year by about 30% !

Wont affect us.

Might have to think twice before attending another AFF dinner with the likes of you Drron;):D

Within 24hrs SWMBO had me booking a 4 week family x-mass holiday in LOTFAP taking advantage of the current QF J sale.

Exchange rate didn't even get a mention.

It's only money Amaroo and a group of AFFers getting together is good for your soul. It is a place where having too many FF points in too many programs is not seen as unusual at all. Then you move onto hotel programs and become more brilliant after a couple of drinks.

Words of wisdom.

In fact we're doing a mattress run in a couple of weeks.

We ended up with a good amount of Hyatt points from our trip to Tokyo last year.....12 month use or lose clause has us flying to MEL & staying at the PH:D Going to give Hyatt a real bash over the 4 week trip to USA......a few weeks of free accommodation in PHT or another property is in the bag:cool:
