How should I manage partner airline schedule change booked as QF Classic Reward?

I have a SYD-NAN-LAX reward ticket operated by FJ in J in June 2026 booked as a Classic Reward via QF.

I set up a Google Flights notification for the flights as I find this to be an easy way to catch major schedule changes. Alas, I noticed this morning that the price can no longer be tracked. After poking around and confirming on the Fiji Airways website, the NAN-LAX sector isn't available for purchase on Tuesdays for 2 months across May/June 2026. My booking still shows confirmed in "manage my booking" on both Qantas and Fiji websites, but my assumption is there's a stop-sell/inventory closure with a cancellation forthcoming and existing pax still to be notified.

I assume I shouldn't attempt to do anything until the flight actually shows as disrupted in my booking. Once it is, dare I ask: any suggestions on what to do next and/or any anecdotes in the last year or so on similar cases where a partner airline has cancelled a frequency and the flight was booked via QF as a Classic Reward? (I know people's experiences have varied quite a bit in the past, and I'd be keen to hear if any of the promises QF made to fix issues with partner rewards have led to any meaningful change.)

Ideally I'd be happy to fly the same route the day before and in a perfect world they'd automatically present this as a solution. If not, the question is, can/will Qantas assist to work with Fiji to re-accommodate me (I presume Fiji would have to manually assist to move me per their involuntary schedule change policy given no reward inventory is available for new bookings), or is Qantas taking an approach of, "not our problem, if no new reward inventory shows on alternative days, you're SOL"? I also assume it's certainly safe to say that QF won't open up inventory on their own SYD-LAX in response to a partner's schedule change.

Sigh. Fiji's daily schedule for SYD-NAN-LAX on the A350 hasn't changed in years, so this is a very unexpected and unwelcome surprise! Any advice, recommendations, or anecdotes to help set and manage expectations or try to talk-track my way to success here is greatly appreciated.

What does FJ’s contract of carriage say about schedule and flight disruptions?

Doe it say if a flight is disrupted they will put you on the next available service?

That’s what will happen.

FJ will make the change, QF will reissue the ticket with the new flight.
