How much have you spent with Qantas?

Just a light-hearted thread.

I have used Microsoft Money (showing my age) for many years now to track spending and balance credit cards etc. One nice thing about this is it makes it trivial to find out total expenditure with a given business.

My records go back to 1997 and in that time I've spent... $133,910.18 with the Red Roo.

How does your (personal) loyalty measure up? :)

That is not a figure I even want to think about adding up! If you count all the airfares I have bought for ankle biters and their partners (who always seem to want to travel at Easter or Christmas with only a few weeks notice), I have spent more than that in the last 2 years!

I suppose when you consider that roughly that works out to $140.00 per week, I suspect there are smokers who spend more, just imagine if you got serious and spent around $300. pw !!

I should see if I can plot a graph, I suspect it would be very heavily weighted towards the last few years. Especially since I used to fly AN until they went under :)

Actually what's scary is seeing how much I have spent in total at some restaurants. Better not go there !

Knowing that is very powerful when dealing with companies you buy from.

OT: (sorry-not-sorry :)).

Awesome. I use MS Money too. The 2002 Financial Suite and love it. I really wish they hadn't canned it but I saw the writing was on the wall when they knobbled the later versions (2003 onwards) in terms of functionality which is why I stuck with 2002FS.

Seeing we have just as many wine, champagne threads should we also report on our alcohol spend

Yes I wish they hadn't killed it - whenever I get a new PC I'm stuck installing a UK version of Money 2005 and then have to hack the registry entries to get it to open my Australian money file :(

Less than $5k. Mainly because I used to fly DL to LAX, then after they left my luggage in LA and told me I wasn't on the flight I just flew in on I switched to QF.

I suspect it'll head towards $20k in the next 10 years. Still not much, though!

That's the problem with MS Money, it's just too easy to look up your total wine spend. Requires a strong drink after that.

Well, my Money file and software is the UK version, but I just added accounts in AUD when I moved here. It works well without any registry hacking, thankfully. The next hurdle will be what Windows 10 makes of it. I'm not there yet but MS have offered me the free upgrade from Win7.

$63000 on Qantas/JQ/Qantas Awards since Jan 2010. About $43000 on work flights in that time.

VA about $23000

When I first joined Qantas Club I liked to track the number of beers I drank to measure the ROI. QC was well invested that year :)
