How many PC points does one earn for a Qualifying Stay?

A Question from a PC newbie... :D

I have never had a revenue booking under PC; only awards.

Looking around it seems it's flat rate with additional earn for incidentals.

Is this correct?

If so, how does it apply for status?

You can buy Gold membership and/or you can buy up to 40,000 points per membership year.

Dont forget Ambassador gives you complimentary GOLD while RA gives you Plat, which gives you 25/50% PC point bonus on earning. There are no bonuses when collecting miles, however if crediting to QF you do earn 3 points per $ on spend at the IC stays in Australia rather than the flat 1K points. Ambassadors also earn a bonus for every 15 nights at an IC.

A recent $190 stay at a HI got me:

Qualifying Stay 1564pts
platinum bonus 782pts
1,000 bonus points for 60 days 1000pts
double points/miles '10 1564 pts
stay 7 nights, get 10,000 10000 pts.

Generally its not hard to have a one night stay earn 5000 PC Points even without a stay xx_ get xx_ promo, which is one point break night!


The stay xx_ get xx_ are quite generous, as are the 2x or 3x miles/points which happen often. The current 2x is good through to Dec 30.

IC is 2000 per stay + status bonuses if collecting points rather than miles, for instance

Qualifying Stay 2000 pts
platinum bonus 1000 pts
royal ambassador bonus 1000 pts.

You can do well despite the stay limitation on IC points as the other bonuses often come into play:

The number after the date is the number of qualifying nights, there is $800 of charges in total in the above stays thanks to the PP specials which I use a lot, such as the BOGOs.
