How have you found the service of Virgin Airlines Staff?

Cant say Ive had a bad experience with either carrier. Had some laclustre performances from both, but in all honesty, since relaunch as VA, I cannot recall a single time, when I have felt the crew were off. I had one flight, which was the last out of SYD at night, we ended up leaving 10 mins early, obviously the end of a long day, because the whole crew seemed uninterested and tired, and were really keen to get out ASAP, they werent bad, they did their job, but they were obviously over it for the day, we all have those days.
Re Lounge staff, I cant say I have had a problem with them either, Sure there are times when the contractors are slack and dont clean up the place, but thats Virgins problem not mine, I have found all lounge staff, both employee and contractors to be fantastic when it comes to customer service.

DJ lounge staff (at desk) , big thumbs up, DJ contractors - average to below average and even downright rude.

Ooooh, you're still smarting over that SYD outrage, aren't you markis10 ;)

Now let's see......wasn't it a Ford shirt? Maybe the barman owned a Turkish Transit like me .

Careful with the generalizations! Some DJ catering staff may be average but others, such as the Adelaide catering staff, are absolutely fantastic

++++ from me! I'm with Noob. Some of the catering staff are really, very good. In fact, I honestly can't remember an issue bad enough for me to hold a grudge with the caterers, but I can recall multiple times when they've gone out of their way to make my/our lounge visit pleasant.

It was more than one occasion and more than the SYD lounge (including being suited rather then a ford supporter LOL), I have had issues with BNE as well when It comes to caterers, so no I am not smarting, once off I always give the benefit of doubt, multiple issues, no tolerance, it's been noted here on various threads.

Crew service is acceptable - most of the time nothing spectacular on domestic - status is simply a different greeting (welcome back instead) and a better seat, but once on board no other recognition., ot that I really care. Lounge angels are usually pretty decent. Long haul international is quite good I've found.

Catering lounge staff at other cities are quite average but ADL really stands out as spectacular. The service is warm, personal and friendly - one of the benefits of a smaller lounge I suppose.

I've found Virgin to be generally good, however the odd poorer one slips through.

I personally think this has a lot to do with Virgin still needing a lot of work behind the scenes. On the surface, things look great now, but Im not sure how deep that goes.

I think customer service/customer care should be a big part of any company and Virgin seem to be struggling with this a lot. That being said, Qantas aren't a hell of a lot better.

Few good examples:

- Sent feedback to Virgin reference a very poor crew. 6 weeks later... no response. Followed it up with the DJ rep here, however received a template reply that didn't actually address the problem.
- Sent feedback to Virgin reference a great crew.... It's now been over 4 weeks and I've not even had a response.

If staff know that the "behind the scenes" isn't working and they can basically get away with anything, the chances of consistancy are fairly poor. I think Virgin need to work on this.

Overall, I find DJ cabin crew as a whole better than QF as well as Lounge staff. Check-in staff are about the same (I think a lot are still in the "LCC - Customer is always wrong and a pain in the backside" mentality)

WOW - on DJ? This is the airline that, a few years ago had no-one over 35 in their cabin crew!

I've found the DJ crew get older and older with every flight I take - while they have the experience, it doesn't really fit with the young, fresh, vibrant and progressive worldwide Virgin brand?!

Yes because people over the age of 35 can never be fresh, vibrant or progressive. Oh you meant they don't make as good cabin ornaments! My bad. To be honest I don't care how old the FA as long as are good at their jobs. But some people just have youth obssession, my suggestion is find a new hobby. Once you're no longer in the 'youth' age bracket you'll find there are more interesting things in life to focus on.

Had a great experience last Friday night, sent feedback and email reply received Monday.

I've been travelling VA long haul in Y every 3 or so months for the past 18 months and feel that the level of enthusiasm of the cabin crew is slowly falling with each trip. Having said that, it did start at a very high level, so I still find the level of service acceptable, just not outstanding anymore.

In my 8 DJ flights taken since 'Plat matching' last year (4 booked in Y, 4 in J) I have been most impressed by almost every DJ staff member I have interacted with, especially in the air. If they're putting on an act, then they are faking sincerity better than anyone else I've seen - they genuinely seem pleased to see and serve you (esp. in J, unsurprisingly). One or two ground staff were tad indifferent but certainly not rude or unfriendly, just paled a bit compared with the rest. And other ground staff have been really good.

It actually makes me want to requal Plat and give business to Virgin. That was more or less planned out for this year but a spanner in the works may prevent this happening. But I'll certainly look at next year.
