How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

Be aware of the additional €2 per person per night “city tax”. Thought all fees and taxes were prepaid upon booking however this is an additional tax that is collected upon check in.

I think the reason is that you may arrive with fewer (or more) people, so they only can collect what's actually due; EU regulation.

The 'per person' tax also negates putting 2 people in the booking rather than 1 (if you are travelling alone), to get 2 drink vouchers, as I at least do in Australia.

You indicate Platinum status. Outside of Asia/Pacific (and exec. lounges), free Weekend Breakfast is only a defined benefit for those with Diamond (and above) status.

Yep, very good job to score a free Brekky though.
If you don’t ask you don’t receive 😝
Hmmm.

I thought it was Plat and above and asked genuinely on that basis.

Weekend breakfast was also granted in Munich (which I’m yet to write up in the thread)

🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ll take both wins. 👍

Your post had me second guessing myself, but these are the terms on which I was relying.

Weekend breakfast for Plat and above:

I did see that advertising while researching for my post but also knew it was incorrect based on the program as it was when the four levels were introduced.

My post also included a link to the program terms where the breakfast benefit is clearly differentiated between Platinum and Diamond.

I suspect there has been some inaccurate revision of the advertorial benifits page.

Good luck to you

Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre
Status: Silver
They offered me a touch of gold, which in addition of the normal welcome drink, they offered me:
- 2pm check out
- Amenities (2 packs of biscuits)
- High Speed WiFi
- Room upgrade
Quite surprised by this tbh, considering I ditched ALL status in 2025.

Property: Nototel Melbourne Central
Status: All Accor Explorer Platinum
Room booked: Deluxe
Room upgraded/type: No
Rate: RHR ~ 130 p/n
Early check in/late out: Late check out 1pm requested and received.
Free internet: Yes, speed ok
Free breakfast: Yes, eggs made to order available as well as mid size buffet, quite decent, offered a barista coffee on the 2nd morning.
Welcome drink: Yes, 2x app, 1x paper voucher (includes wine, basic spirits, beer or softies and signature coughtail ) basically the happy hour menu
Welcome amenity: wine, chocolate, socks and water
Recommend: Yes when the price is right

Had a last minute 2 night stay in the city, picked up a decent RHR rate and overall was a good stay and decent location.

Only odd thing was on check-in I asked about an upgrade, I booked a deluxe which is top of the normal rooms, next category is junior suite.

Staff: sorry you are already in the highest category.
Me: what about a suite, I can see those are available, and are the next class up.
Staff: oh you have to book a king bed room to upgrade to a suite
Me: I have booked a king bed room
Staff: ah yes you have, but you have to book a superior king bed room to get an upgrade
Me: so I have to book a lower class room to get an upgrade?
staff: Yes a superior room we don’t upgrade from deluxe
Me: are you sure, that does not make sense that I have to book a lower room and pay less to get an upgrade.
Staff: yes you cannot upgrade from your room.
Me: 🤷‍♂️

I gave up at that point figuring they have some form of non upgrade policy, I stayed here a couple of years ago when gold and was told I had been upgraded but the room was the same on the 2nd lowest floor, when asked about that was given the run around.

Other staff were very pleasant,

Annoyingly the restaurant/bar is closed on Sunday and also does not open until 4pm, so hard to use vouchers during the day, I was given a paper voucher to use in the cafe on the ground floor but they rejected it as they only accept it on Sunday morning , I went in the afternoon.
