As a Hobart local, I had a one night stay-cay at the Movenpick last week. I have stayed at the hotel once before, about three years ago, and am glad to say the hotel still delivered a great stay, and good ALL recognition.
On check in I was thanked for loyalty and told that my room had been upgraded. The room that I was given had a spectacular view, and it was lovely to be reminded how beautiful my home city is! With that said, the room was definitely smaller than the one I booked. This didn’t matter for one night, but may be an issue for a longer stay.
Welcome drinks were good. I steered clear of the Legacy wine option, but had a local cider (Willie smiths) and my partner had a local beer (pale ale of some sort). My daughter loved the free ice cream and we all enjoyed the chocolate hour (330-430pm).
We had room service for dinner and it was absolutely delicious, and delivered quite quickly. Prices were reasonable, too.
Breakfast the next morning was excellent in the Tesoro restaurant downstairs. I was told I could order a dish from the menu and a small continental buffet is also available. I didn’t bother with the buffet -that was underwhelming- but the plated breakfast might have been the best hotel Brekky that I’ve had in Aus. No extra barista tax, either. Wholeheartedly recommend.
Great stay!
