How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

Given only some of the hotels under this umbrella honour Accor plus, maybe they should have called it the Swiss cheese collection, because off all the holes in their benefits other brands usually uniformly honour

But all academic - as has rightly been pointed out, there's a Sofitel next door.

These "Collections" sound very Mercure-esque to me. And I won't touch Mercure with a freaking barge pole.

First time staying in one of the reno'ed rooms - definitely worth the co-pay on a Stay Plus cert. USB A & C chargers on all power points, and a much cleaner looking and well maintained room.

Amenity plate was substantial and tasty, full size bottle of sav blanc in fridge. 3 x drink vouchers received (one for my 18 month old daughter) redeemed at the poolside bar. The bartender said Plats could order anything off the entire menu including coughtails, and offered to make non-listed coughtails too. He made a great mojito.

There was an 'animal encounter' event in the lobby on Sunday morning which our daughter enjoyed, it was put on by the zoo across the road. They had a few snakes and lizards on display which could be touched/held by the kids - was quite a hit with families.

Other service interactions excellent and have provided feedback to the property along with names.

Stayed for a series of OMG-o'clock arrivals and departures. Good access from the terminal, highly annoying if arriving from elsewhere in Bali. Hot tip: Grabs are half price if you do the couple of minutes walk to outside the airport gates, without having to pay the 14000 IDR parking fee as well. We used "Harris hotel" as our second base heh. Screenshot below the safest walking route.

Executive lounge access very useful - no breakfast there. Lunch 12-15, afternoon tea 15-18, coughtails 18-21. Pretty poor coughtails the first time we went (quickly switched to wine) but they rapidly improved on subsequent stays. Good food array - during the day are salads, breads, a few canapes, sushi and desserts. coughtail is plenty for a full meal. Sadly we were chased out tonight by a couple with an obviously ill child who coughed and sneezed over all the food then watched cartoons at full volume on a phone. I definitely don't condone children in lounges especially when alcohol is being served.

Breakfast - okay. Reasonable range. Often crowded and noisy due to the open plan design.

Rooms are fine - showers are pretty poor. Despite not being an old hotel all the shower heads leaked in multiple areas (definitely not much pressure for those who like it). Temperature control means it never gets hot. No face washers in the bathroom. No shubs which is good. 3rd stay the fridge, kettle and coffee maker all didn't work for various reasons. Pool is a reasonable length, but often the towels were not available. Gym, not bad but the cardio and weights are in 2 totally separate rooms separated by a hallway and a set of stairs. Annoying if you want to warm up on cardio machines then do weights.

Twice when we had late night flights we booked 2 rooms to guarantee as late a check out as we wanted - I understand they offer day rooms for $80 ish but I think those are only til 6pm so was better just to book the extra night. Very worthwhile.

Recommend?: I'd stay here again for a gig at the Barracks, but otherwise, sans car, it was a bit tricky so I'd stay somewhere closer to the city.

Booked two nights here to see the Hoodoo Gurus play Mars Needs Guitars at the Barracks precinct with a friend. While pleasant enough, some of the fixtures were getting dated. Needed to request bedding for the sofa bed. Breakfast was not elaborate but quite tasty with a decent selection of hot and cold options.

Great summary of Novotel DPS.
I had enquired via email about day use, quoted ~$100 non-refundable with Lounge access.
Hours were 2 - 8 pm. If later than 8 pm, the full night room rate would be charged.

For what it's worth, they are a little flexible on the hours. I've booked day use 1-7pm and had both early CI and slightly late CO.

I get the impression that stuff happens when the hotel is onboarded into Accor. Seems to me that Kintamani access was magicked up to keep the Palace exclusive. I would be pretty sure Accor is across and signed off on it.

Last time i was there, it did seem a bit confusing. The grab entered and asked for a couple thousand to get through and then had to go up to some counter and register. Definitely a bit confusing on what the go is there. Good to know about Harris hotel though, i'm back next month so will keep it in mind!

Don't understand this. I believe there is access from the terminal via a corridor on upper level - but why the other GRAB routing via the Harris Hotel?

Two night stay for work.

Arrived about 10am and asked to store my bag so I didn’t have to take it to the office.

“Your room is ready sir” was a very pleasant surprise.

That was followed by acknowledgement of loyalty and “we’ve upgraded you to executive suite”.

I’ve stayed here plenty and the upgrades are generally a higher floor, a coffee machine, or both.

So I was surprised to find myself on the top floor in a two room corner suite.

It has an expansive bathroom with a shower big enough for six people or a small elephant.

It had two rain showers and two standard wall showers. And unlike most places there wasn’t a valve to switch between them all. You could run all four at once.

I did test the rain shower and wall shower at the same time - purely for research purposes - and can report it was very relaxing.

The bathroom also had one of those windows from the shower out to the living room and to the view of the city beyond.

I know these are a love/hate thing for some people. But when the bathroom lights were switched on, the window slowly frosted over - taking maybe 20 seconds. Nifty.

The other thing I liked was that the hotel recognised my profile preferences.

I can’t handle the soft saggy pillows you get in most hotels and my profile includes a standing request for a firm pillow.

Even at 10am this was on the bed waiting. Very few Accor hotels can mange this, and even this property usually doesn’t.

Breakfast is a standard mid-scale Accor buffet with a DIY coffee machine. There’s also barista coffee with no coffee tax for Plat and above.

This property has also resumed giving the option to forgo housekeeping in favour of 100 ALL points.

I forgot photos sorry. But these pictures are accurate and seem to be the actual room I was assigned.

At checkout I thanked the front office manger for the upgrade and said what a terrific room it was. He offered to add it as my preferred room for future visits. I’ll be very happy if that actually happens.

Booked as a mini break for Mrs mort’s birthday.

Pre arrival, received automated emails regarding lounge access and check-in, I’m sure I have received a call before, or a personal email.

I noted in the pre checkin form this stay was for Mrs. Morts birthday.

Unfortunately no birthday recognition. C'est la vie.

Arrived at 1pm, check in was a little hap hazard, no status recognition though did get a welcome back, though it’s been a few years since we last stayed. Asked about upgrades and they mentioned we’d been given a prestige suite, but it was not ready, but we could wait in the lounge and they would message me when ready to pick up room keys .

Afternoon tea in the lounge was nice, relatively quiet, though seemed under staffed at each visit, only one staff member on for afternoon tea, working the reception desk, but also tea and coffee orders. Spread was nice with a couple of savory and sweet options.

The prestige suite is quite roomy at 77 squares but with an old style bathroom with a small bath with shower over, not one for the shub haters , water pressure as has been noted was poor but manageable.

But the room has great views over the city, we had a north and east outlook and it was fairly clear.

We hit the canapés before heading out to a show, lounge was busier but not packed, had a couple staff on hand and they managed to keep up with drinks, though the kitchen was slow to replenish dishes.

Slept well, bed on the softer side which works for me, but not Mrs Mort.

Breakfast was a bit of a service let down. Again only one person managing both front desk taking orders and clearing tables, somehow my order for breakfast went missing twice, ended up sitting there for almost an hour, it was nice once I got it just not sure what happened. Mrs Morts turned up fine and several guests after us seem to receive theirs even those who had ordered the same dish.

Checked out at 12pm though I believe later was on offer, just not required.
