How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

What was the lounge like? Especially evening drinks and food offerings?
Didn't make it to Palace Club Lounge as they retracted their offer 🤦‍♀️
On YouTube there is a comprehensive clip 365 days in Accor Hotels.
Kintamani Lounge for Gold "VIP's" has a few snacks and bites at 5.30pm. - 7 pm
They don't really let you know about this, we were the only ones in there apart from one other couple one night.

20250908_173802.jpgWe were given complimentary coughtails as service recovery due to their misinformation and miscommunication. @Daver6

Property : Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa - Bali
Status : Accor + Gold
Booking :  Two bookings of 3 nights each

...Duty Manager informed us today that Platinum status will only get Lounge access for Premium room booked, not if lower categories of deluxe and superior.
He stated that it is the hotel policy as part of the HANDWRITTEN COLLECTION....
That rather sounds like it needs to be called out - flies in the face of the published ALL rules that Platinums are given Lounge access where one is available (Fairmonts excluded, of course)

I will be emailing GM when we get home @Cloud9
Met up with a friend today who works at Melia, she introduced us to her friend who happens to be NDB Hotel GM's secretary !
Will update here when I get clarification.
This is what they hand out to ALL Gold at check in.

Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa - Handwritten Collection isn't listed as a property with lounge access for Platinum members.
Not to be confused with the Sofitel next door!

Ah, jolly good, there's a Sofitel - all's well, then.

Nevertheless, it's a case of there being a lounge, rather than a lounge for Platinum, that is really the crux here. If the hotel has an executive lounge, the ALL rules are pretty clear that Plat and above should have access.

Oh, I agree but one thing I've noticed is the non-mainline brands (those not Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Novotel, Mercure, Ibis) all seem to be add-ons where you need to have a degree in deciphering complicated T's & C's

And for that I only really stay in the mainline brands to maintain my status.

Fair shout, dude.

I've gone a bit snobbish. I won't touch anything beyond Ibis Styles on the low side, and my default "cheapy" pleasure zone is Pullman. 👀

Yeah we have a few stays in Vietnam coming up and some are up near $1k per night and getting information out of them and finding the T&C’s is quite annoying.
Thankfully we have have already re-qualified for Diamond already this year so if I earn stuff all for the stays so be it 🤣

That’s probably a case of Accor it catching up to a new hotel, that list is wildly inaccurate.
Interesting that Duty Manager said if I book Premium (which is one step down from Palace Club) upgrade/access is granted.

But if lower category of Superior/Deluxe is booked, access is not granted @markis10
@pauldab @Cloud9
I think I understand their interpretation - not saying it is correct though

Palace Club and Suites get access ✔️
Upgrade one level from Premium to Palace Club as Platinum = access✔️
Upgrade one level from Superior = Deluxe Room❌ access ️
Upgrade one level from Deluxe = Premium ❌ access ️

Will get it in writing !

That'd be handy - and probs worth forwarding onto a central Accor email address as a complaint that they're not adhering to the actual published rules.

Property: Peppers Silo Hotel (Launceston)
Status: Accor+Platinum
Room booked: Tamar River Room (base room)
Room upgraded: Yes, to Gorge River Deluxe room (2 categories up), L7
Rate: $246
Free internet: Yes
Free breakfast: Yes - anything off the a la carte (only) menu
Early check in/late out: N/A
Welcome drink: Yes
Welcome gift: 2 choccies and bottle of Devil's Corner pinot noir (RRP abt $27
Recommend: Yes

This is a cracker of a place to stay. Reasonably priced, comfortable and good facilities; free secure parking and also off-street. Walkable to the centre of Launceston.

As the name implies, its a converted silo; 'Gorge River' rooms are in the silo, Tamar River rooms are new structure on the other side.

The Gorge River Deluxe room is big, with solid concrete walls! 'Gorge River' is a strange name. Refers to the Cataract Gorge upstream, but its still on the Tamar River.

I usually complain about the aircon - not here; I had to turn it off during the night as it got too cold.

On level 1 is a huge lounge, with easy chairs, a bench and tables. This is half - the rest is behind me.

Great bar

IMG_8961.jpeg

And very good restaurant (in the background). Accor discount cheerfully honoured.

In HCMC Sofitel Saigon Plaza has an executive lounge, though when we stayed in July, they had recently changed things. Instead of being able to choose 2 substantial items from a menu, just bite-sized portions of 2 hot offerings.

Pullman Danang doesn't have a Lounge but offers a Sundowner experience of winexand canapes on a Friday night.

Breakfast from the a la carte menu is pretty rare—it's usually just a buffet. That’s really cool.

We have stayed at both and have enjoyed them. We’ve tried quite a few in Vietnam but this trip we are trying 2 different properties.
A week at the Premier Village Phu Quoc and a week at the Premier Village Danang. The plan then is to duck over to Hong Kong for a week and then back to Vietnam. Flying out of SGN so will have 2-3 nights there and still haven’t decided between going back to the Sofitel or MGallery

I think Palace Club is something a bit more exlusive that an executive lounge. My understanding is that Platinum/Diamond would still have access to the Kintamani Lounge (afternoon tea / coughtails) - even if it was created to tick a box for Plat/Diamond
